Trigona bee tour with honey tasting at peaceful Lombok farm
You'll never look at bee's the same way after this experience. Perfect for nature lovers, families, or anyone curious about how the tiniest creatures can have a huge impact, this 1-hour workshop gives you a rare peek into the world of stingless Trigona bees. These tiny workers are essential to the farm’s ecosystem and help pollinate everything from herbs to fruit trees. You’ll hear how they live, see their little wooden hives up close (no worries, they don’t sting!), and taste their honey straight from the source — each colony has its own unique flavour. This isn’t your typical honey-tasting stop. What makes this special is how it’s all done with love for the bees and the land. The beekeeper only harvests a little at a time, always making sure the bees are happy and well-fed. It’s the kind of place that supports local life while giving you a deeper understanding of the role bees play in keeping things growing. If you’re after something authentic, peaceful, and a bit magical, this little workshop is for you. It's also perfect if you're travelling with family or want a gentle, meaningful activity away from the crowds. Plus, it’s hosted by a warm, knowledgeable team that’ll make you feel right at home on their cosy farm. What to ExpectLearn about Trigona bees — tiny, stingless, and vital to the farm’s healthGet an up-close look inside their small wooden hivesLearn how bees play an essential role in sustainable farmingWatch how honey is harvested gently using a knife or spoonTry tasting different honeys — each colony produces its own distinct flavourExperience short farm tour to learn where the bees harvest their pollenHear about sustainable beekeeping practices straight from the beekeeperGood to KnowNo protective gear needed — these bees are stingless and totally safeFood, drinks, and transport are not included (transport can be added on)Add-On: Farmstay BungalowsExtend your visit with a night in the wooden bungalows overlooking the lush farm. Meet your host
Sutikno Gindroz moved back to Lombok with his wife Anne Sophie after years of living abroad. What started as a simple act of kindness—buying land to help someone in need—turned into something much bigger. Despite having no background in farming, Sutikno taught himself everything he could and slowly brought a dry, rocky plot back to life. Now it’s a thriving farm that supports their home. But it doesn’t stop there. He and his family run community programmes—teaching English, helping kids get legal documents, organising clean-ups, and planning a safe space for women. Sutikno’s not just a host—he’s someone who genuinely cares and quietly makes a real difference in his community.
