Highlights
Mepantigan Bali offers a truly one-of-a-kind experience that combines Balinese martial arts with a mud-based experience. The mud-based activity is a fun and exciting way to immerse oneself in Balinese culture while enjoying the beautiful natural scenery. Participants engage in a variety of activities, including mud wrestling and games, which encourage a sense of connection and respect for others. The experience is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, making it an ideal choice for families and groups of friends. The significance behind the Mepantigan experienceThis experience was created by Putu who wanted to pay homage to local martial arts as well as combine it with Balinese traditions that honours the native environment of rice paddies and jungle. It’s also a way to get back in touch with nature for adults that may have lost touch with it since childhood. Before the prevalence of smart phones and the internet, many children in Bali would entertain themselves by playing in the mud of rice paddies by playfully trying to throw each other into the mud.Visiting a place like this allows the Balinese to showcase their creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and their own interpretation of what is important to them. It’s important to acknowledge the way people want to be seen, not just what we as travellers think is important to see.Mepantigan Bali is not just a fun activity; it's an opportunity to reflect on the importance of connection, respect, and sustainability. It's an invitation to step out of your comfort zone and embrace a new perspective on life. Whether you're interested in martial arts or not, this experience offers a chance to deepen your appreciation of Balinese culture and take a step towards a more mindful and sustainable way of living. What to expectGet dirty in the rice mud paddies while playing fun games like- muddy tug of war, Kecak body painting with Papuan dance along with Gamelan (Balinese traditional music). After all the muddy thrills, relax with a mud sauna paired with a coffee scrub and freshly brewed local coffee! Once you've freshened up, enjoy a delightful healthy lunch or dinner at Mepantigan's traditional bamboo house. The host only uses natural ingredients and cooks it using firewood.Approximate travel times with moderate trafficFrom Ubud - 25minFrom Canggu - 1hFrom Kuta - 50minFrom Seminyak - 55minFrom Uluwatu - 1h30min
