See the best of Kuching in 2 Days. Lovely homestay, orangutans & jungle hike.
This 2D1N homestay is perfect if you want to experience the best of Kuching in a short time (orangutans, jungle, and a traditional longhouse), while staying somewhere that feels really warm and personal.Saloma’s place is modern and comfortable, but what really stands out is her and her family. She makes everything feel easy and welcoming — from seeing orangutans at Semenggoh to introducing you to her village, and taking you on a short jungle trek to a waterfall with a knowledgeable local guide. The food here is also a highlight - simple, home-cooked Bidayuh dishes that many guests end up raving about. It’s a nice mix of experiences and downtime, and what people remember most is the feeling of being welcomed in, not just hosted. It feels less like a tour, and more like visiting an old friend. If you want a slower 3D2N experience, check it out here. What to Expect:Visit Semenggoh to see orangutansStay with Saloma and her familyExplore a Bidayuh village and longhouseVisit a local school and weaver’s homeOptional night walk with firefliesShort jungle trek to a waterfallLearn about plants and local lifeEnjoy yummy home-cooked Bidayuh mealsIncludes return transport from Kuching TipsEntrance fees apply for visiting Semenggoh Wildlife Center.Respect the local customs and ask permission before taking photos of the Bidayuh community.
