Review Body: Our host, Emily is friendly, warm and patient. Despite the fact that there were 3 of us (2 adults & 1 child) present for the pottery session, and none of us had experience with pottery, Emily guided each of us patiently, clearly explaining/demonstrating each step systematically . All 3 of us each made a different item, so Emily was kept very busy throughout the session. One could sense her passion in what she’s doing; 2 hours was tight for 3 inexperienced clients, but to Emily, she wasn’t in a hurry to end the session. She made sure that our pieces were nicely done and completed before we left, even if it took more than the 2 hours allocated for the session. She also took time to answer our questions and explained the process of firing and glazing the pieces. The venue (Emily’s backyard) is very conducive for the pottery session. The beautiful plants in the backyard, with the occasional chirping of birds gave us a sense of serenity. It’s an experience worth paying for.

Review Body: I attended the class on my own and was grouped with a few others. Emily, the host, was great—she made everyone feel comfortable right away and gave each of us her full attention. She was incredibly patient throughout the session and made the experience really enjoyable. I needed a bit of extra time after 5 PM to finish stamping my bowl, and not only did she not rush me, but she also took the time to ask about my experience and even took some lovely photos for me. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about her participant's experience. I also noticed how thoughtfully she tailored her instructions for the kid in the group, which was really a nice touch. I especially loved how she taught us about the different types of clay and the various processes involved in pottery—it made the session both hands-on and educational. Such a fun and meaningful learning experience!

Review Body: We had a great time doing pottery in Emily's green garden! Highly recommend for a perfect fun afternoon. She had some great ideas and examples of what we could make, or we could even come with our own idea. I had something specific in mind that I wanted to make, and she was very knowledgeable by showing each of us the right technique for our specific project. We had freedom to experiment and figure out how to we wanted to realize our object, but guidance when needed. The small group of 4 people meant that we could each get personal attention on our individual project, and have lots of fun together seeing how everyone's projects turned out. We chose the glazing colors, which she will do for us (or we could go back to glaze it ourselves if we want). Looking forward to seeing the final products in a while!

Review Body: We had a wonderful experience at Emily’s pottery class and can highly recommend it. Emily has a remarkable talent for engaging children, making them feel comfortable, confident, and excited about creating their own pieces. At the same time, she offers challenges and techniques for adults, ensuring that everyone learns something new regardless of their skill level. What stood out was how clearly and patiently she explained each step. She took the time to answer questions, provide individual guidance, and adapt her pace to each participant’s needs. The atmosphere was welcoming, creative, and fun for both children and adults. We left with beautiful creations, new skills, and great memories. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

Review Body: Really great pottery session - highly recommended! Have done four pottery sessions before this and this was the best by far. The backyard garden setting is beautiful and really zen - perfect place to do pottery. Most importantly Em is fantastic. She’s a really patient teacher, and her technique was great. I went with my 5 year old niece and Em was super with both of us! She let my niece both create a piece and paint it, and she let me do a more advanced piece suited for adults. We took much longer than the allocated time but Em was just really wonderful and patient throughout. The glazing options here are also much nicer than the other studios I’ve been to. I’m super looking forward to my finished piece. Thank you Em!!

Review Body: We had such a wonderful experience with Ms Emily for my son’s birthday! I brought along four kids, and she handled them with incredible patience and care. She really took the time to understand each child’s preferences and guided them individually, which made the session so special. Ms Emily is not only highly skilled but also very personable and great with kids. She even thoughtfully prepared snacks for them, which was such a lovely touch. The kids had an amazing time and couldn’t stop talking about it after! Highly recommend her pottery sessions, especially for children’s events - truly a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone!

Review Body: I spent a WONDERFUL afternoon at Tiong Bahru Pottery with my husband and 2 children (7 and 10 years old) and we all had an amazing time. The surroundings are beautiful and teacher explains everything clearly and calmly and with great patience. It is definitely you that creates the pieces though and the teacher brings out your creativity and helps with the technical aspects. It was just brilliant! We're leaving Singapore otherwise I would be booking for my daughter's birthday party and for me and group of girlfriends and I to come too. I can wait to see our fired finished pieces.

I had gifted myself pottery session as one of the activities, for my birthday and it was worth every penny. Review Body: Really wonderful experience in Tiong Bahru. Emily was very patient, knowledgeable and kind. She helped everyone achieve their artistic vision, even though the 3 kids and 2 adults all decided on different pottery ideas (which required different techniques). The space was very quaint and Emily generously provided everything we needed from the aprons, clay, tools and colors to refreshments. We all had a wonderful time on a Saturday morning. Review Body: The private pottery session with Emily is absolutely enjoyable and her courtyard is such a quaint hideaway gem! We can choose which style/pieces we want to make and Emily is super patient with us absolute beginners! Since we were celebrating birthday, Emily even prepared a surprise flower bouquet! Love her taste in floral arrangements! I would recommend this for anyone looking to spend a chill afternoon in greenery and getting your hands dirty!

Her instructions was very specific to the artwork youre creating, which was helpful in developing the final piece. Review Body: Emily was warm and engaging, and my 5 year old took to her immediately. We enjoyed the cosy atmosphere of the yard, with thoughtful touches such as sample pieces for inspiration, as well as little treats and water for the children. Even though the session was outdoors, the area was well-shaded and comfortable. It made for a lovely afternoon for both of us, and I can easily see it being a great place for families and friends to spend time together.

I like the small class size, and Emily makes an effort to go around to each student to check on their progress. My friend who is a bit more experienced wanted a more complicated design and Emily balanced out the time between guiding newbies vs. experienced students really well. Review Body: Big thank you to Emily for this wonderful experience. My 6yo wanted to make a Pokémon sculpture and Emily was all ready to guide him, breaking it down step by step. It allowed me to focus on my piece. The quiet focus and flow, with my hands busy, and my son working alongside me, was bliss. Loved the location of this peaceful, creative sanctuary.
