Meet your host

Alexander Yuen is the founder of The Magic Bar, which he started in 2023. His idea for the bar came from his time performing at a Japanese magic bar in Singapore over a decade ago. Back then, he opened for a Japanese magician at Bar84, an experience that left a lasting impression. When that bar closed, Alexander tried to keep the idea going by teaming up with other cocktail bars, but they didn’t believe in the concept. So, years later, he built it himself. Now, at The Magic Bar, guests sit close to the action—just like in the traditional Japanese magic bars he admired—and enjoy a unique mix of great drinks and live, skilful magic right at the table.
