Create a working habitat for your tiny pet in a beautiful studio.
Looking to bring a slice of the wild into your home? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll get to choose between two unique builds:A crab nano paludarium — a stunning mini world with land and water, ideal for semi-aquatic crabs like red devils or vampire crabs.Or a shrimp nano aquascape — a calming underwater landscape made with aquascaping-grade materials and shrimp-safe plants. What makes it special? Most plant or aquascape workshops are great for aesthetics — this goes a step further. You’ll create a proper hybrid ecosystem, learn how to balance land and water zones, hide the filtration system, and pick the right plants and structures for your new crabby or shrimp friend. It’s fun, practical and you’ll walk away with a lasting tank that’s ready for real-life use. No experience needed, just a love for nature and a bit of curiosity!Learn from landscaping experts with deep experience in crafting immersive, living environments that bring a touch of nature into homes and offices. Each project is designed with an understanding of plant growth, animal behaviour, and environmental balance — ensuring a thriving, low-maintenance habitat. This workshop is perfect for families, eco-conscious hobbyists, or anyone who enjoys getting creative with their hands. If you’ve always been fascinated by mini ecosystems or want to dip your toes into the world of aquascaping with a twist, you can’t go wrong with this. *Bonus — the shop itself is a stunning place to visit, filled with beautifully designed tanks to inspire your build. What to ExpectGet step-by-step guidance on building a complete nano habitatLearn how to aquascape using rocks, driftwood, and shrimp-safe plantsSet up substrate layers for healthy plant growth and crustacean comfortInstall a concealed pump for water circulationUnderstand tank cycling, biofiltration, and water care essentialsAdd final touches like leaf litter and decor for a natural lookLearn basic care tips — feeding, moulting, and maintenance for shrimp or crabsUse professional-grade materials not typically offered in beginner classesPlease note that each workshop has a dedicated timeslot:Crab Paludarium: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PMShrimp Aquascape: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PMSelect your preferred timeslot based on the build you’d like to create at checkout.Good to KnowWorkshop lasts around 1.5 hoursNo crab/ shrimp are included — you'll need to add one after cycling the tank at home (around 1–2 weeks later)Suitable for complete beginners — no prior experience neededKids aged 9 and above are welcome — it's a fun and educational experience perfect for families.Parents with younger children (under 13) can build together for a meaningful bonding session.

Meet your host
Tng Di Kai started Chai Chee Safari in 2022 after years of building planted tanks and vivariums at home. He’s someone who genuinely enjoys working with his hands and figuring things out—especially when it comes to nature. What began as a personal hobby soon caught the attention of friends and clients who wanted their own custom setups.
Through Chai Chee Safari, Di Kai creates nature displays that are not just beautiful, but practical and easy to live with. His work now includes everything from home installations to hotel features and workshops.
He also runs community sessions for schools and families, focusing on hands-on learning and sustainable practices. It’s all about making nature feel close, real, and part of everyday life.
