Experience the thrill of freediving at The Southern Islands in SG
The Southern Islands boast clearer waters and marine life, unlike any other beaches on mainland Singapore, making it an ideal spot for learning to freedive locally.We start with a 2-hour online theory session to learn the basic breath hold and equalisation techniques. Then over the course of a day, with 2 dive sessions included, you will learn the skills needed to safely dive underwater up to 10m deep.Upcoming courses:12 Mar 7.30-9.30pm (Theory online), 23 Mar 9am-4.30pm (Depth)28 May 7.30-9.30pm (Theory online), 7 Jun 9am-4.30pm (Depth)*For the booking, please select the date of the online theory session. The corresponding dive session is automatically included in your booking.The cost includes the use of equipment and transport to and from the island.

Meet your host
Michelle Ooi has always felt at home in the water. A former competitive swimmer, triathlete, and underwater rugby player, she discovered freediving in 2011 and hasn’t looked back. While she enjoys the challenge of training and competition, what she loves most is being in the ocean and sharing that experience with others. Teaching freediving gives her the chance to help people connect with the water in a deeper way. Outside of diving, she’s into surfing, skateboarding, and marine conservation. She also organises regular underwater clean-ups and trips focused on protecting the ocean. With Michelle, it’s not just about diving – it’s about creating a meaningful connection with the sea and everything in it.
