Review Body: I've done a lot of sake tastings and this is the best I've done! The space is super cosy and tucked away, and the sakes were excellent - they're super interesting and thoughtfully chosen. All their sakes are from small family breweries in Japan and can't be found elsewhere. We loved the stories and how unique the sakes were. The best part was the owner Joan - she was wonderful! She's incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about sake, and was so warm and patient with all our questions. We learnt so much from her, and loved hearing about the small Japanese breweries she works with. The food was lovely too. Such a great little spot, would definitely recommend!

Review Body: If you are tired of commercial assembly line tastings where someone pours, splashes, and vanishes, this hidden gem is quite the opposite. It's in a quiet corner, and the experience is incredibly personal, led by an owner whose passion for sake is infectious. She was exceptionally patient during the tasting, walking us through all the stories behind several seasonal sakes. The experience also comes with a generous spread of snacks that pairs well. Tip: Do not leave without trying out their beers. They carry a selection of unpasteurized craft beers, ask for the owner’s favourite.

Review Body: Had an enjoyable sake tasting experience here. Even though there was another group of 4 during the session, the atmosphere still felt very welcoming and personal. The sommelier was knowledgeable and shared interesting information about the different types of sake. We got to try such a wide variety, from cloudy and craft styles to refined pours and even sake on tap, which was really unique. It never felt rushed, and you could tell a lot of thought went into curating the selection. Definitely a great experience for both beginners and people who already enjoy sake.

It was both educational and delicious. I would 100% recommend this experience to anyone looking to learn more about sake and have a nice time.

Review Body: My friend and I both enjoyed the session! It was cosy and chill (more like being in someone’s dining room rather than commercial) and the session ended up stretching out longer, the host is knowledgeable and let us try an extra type of sake :) Also enjoyed trying the different sakes, and the snacks were good too!

Review Body: Compared to all the alcohol experience I’ve ever been to (and I've been to a lot!), this has been by far the most full experience I ever had!! I had a really good and fun lesson (esp for someone who only knows how to drink) and definitely take home some knowledge eg. How to buy a sake that i enjoy next time!

Taste rare Japanese sakes and hear the stories behind them!
If you love sake (or have always wanted to understand it better), this is such a cool little find in Singapore! The real highlight is meeting Charles and Joan. They've spent years travelling around Japan, visiting over 100 breweries, wineries and distilleries, and building personal relationships with small, family-run sake makers. They know the people behind the bottles, and their enthusiasm is infectious! You'll learn how sake is made, what makes different styles taste so different, and the stories behind rare finds from breweries like Nabeshima, Mizubasho and Noguchi Naohiko Sake Institute. And unlike a formal tasting class, this feels more like hanging out with friends who happen to know an incredible amount about sake. The shop is small and cosy, the tasting is tailored to what you already know and enjoy, and there are light bites to nibble on along the way.Guests especially love how much they learn without it ever feeling like a lecture. One even said it was the most comprehensive alcohol tasting they'd been to, and left knowing how to choose sake they'd actually enjoy buying. We'd recommend this for both sake lovers looking for rare bottles and complete beginners who want a fun, genuinely interesting evening. What to Expect1-hour small-group sake tasting in a cosy, tucked-away shop (up to 8 guests)Taste 5 premium sakes, including rare finds from smaller Japanese breweriesHear stories about the brewers and learn about sake-making, flavours and stylesPersonalised explanations based on your knowledge and preferencesLight pre-dinner bites, often featuring fermented ingredientsGood to KnowNo sake knowledge needed. Meet your host

Joan’s sake journey started in Japan with a bridal business, but it was the conversations she had in small towns — with brewers and locals — that sparked something more lasting. Together with Charles, she brought that spirit home, creating a place where sake isn’t just poured, but appreciated for its story and care. Since 2013, they’ve been working closely with small breweries, focusing on sustainability (including cold-chain deliveries and an electric truck), and running tastings that feel more like friendly gatherings than formal events. For them, it’s all about genuine connection — with the sake, the makers, and the people who drink it.
