Swiss watchmaking masterclass with hands-on crafting in a cosy studio
Get a rare glimpse into the fascinating world of traditional Swiss watchmaking – right here in Singapore. This 2-hour hands-on masterclass is led by a real Swiss Master Watchmaker with over 30 years of experience, including 16 years at Audemars Piguet. It's perfect if you’re curious about mechanical watches, love craftsmanship, or just want to understand what makes Swiss timepieces so special.Unlike larger watch museums or exhibitions where you just look from afar, here you’ll be stepping right into a cosy, traditional watchmaking studio. Learn directly from the master himself, try your hand at creating your own decorative watch finish (a technique called perlage), and bring your creation home as a keepsake. It’s an eye-opening experience, especially for those who prefer hands-on learning and behind-the-scenes insights over simply browsing a display case. This is ideal for curious minds who geek out about fine details, craftsmanship and timeless design. Whether you’re a budding collector, celebrating a meaningful milestone, or planning a unique bonding activity – this offers something truly special you won’t find anywhere else in Singapore. What to ExpectVisit a working Swiss watchmaking atelier operated by a seasoned master watchmakerSee the tools and equipment of the trade, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage craftGet an insider introduction to the Swiss watch industryLearn about complications, innovations and the fine artistry of haute horlogerieHands-on session where you’ll try perlage – a decorative finish seen in luxury watchesTake home your perlage creation as a unique keepsakeLight Swiss refreshments includedGood to KnowNo prior watchmaking experience needed – this is suitable for beginnersThis is a join-in session for small groups, so it’s intimate and interactiveSuitable for families with children from age 12

Meet your host
Michael Dubs and Phyllis Dubs-Lye started their business in 2024 with a simple goal—to make traditional watchmaking more accessible and appreciated by today’s learners and collectors. Michael, a real Swiss Master Watchmaker with over 30 years of experience (including 16 years at Audemars Piguet!), had always wanted to share the art and precision of horology with others, and together, they’ve built something that does just that. They're focused on keeping classes affordable while still keeping the business going. Looking ahead, they hope to support underserved communities and show young people there’s more than one path to success. It’s not just about watches for them—it’s about sharing skills, opening doors, and building a community where everyone feels welcome to learn.
