A team experience to reconnect with farming & food right here in Singapore
In Singapore, almost all our food comes from elsewhere. It arrives neatly packaged, grown by people we’ll never meet.Tucked away in the West Coast, a community farm is quietly showing another way: growing food and community right in the middle of the city. It’s a reminder that even in one of the world’s most built-up places, food doesn’t have to begin in a factory or travel far to reach us. It can start right here, in the soil, tended by local communities. In this experience, you’ll meet the farmers and hear the stories behind this community farm. You’ll harvest ingredients like lemongrass, laksa leaves, ginger and sugarcane, then use what you’ve picked to cook your own laksa lunch and share it with the people who grew it.When you’ve met the farmers behind your food and harvested part of your own meal, freshness tastes different. Laksa becomes something new when you’ve grown part of it yourself. The distance between “farm” and “table” collapses into a single experience. In a city where life moves fast, this experience offers something rare: a moment of connection - to food, to the people who grow it, and to the simple idea that farming and cooking together can build a community. What to Expect:A guided, interactive tour of a community farmHarvest ingredients like lemongrass, laksa leaves, ginger, and sugarcaneParticipate in group cooking to prepare vegetarian laksa from scratch (and participate in a friendly competition!)Enjoy fresh sugarcane (with balonglong!) juice made on-siteA rare chance to reconnect with farming & food right here in SingaporeGood to Know:The experience lasts about 2.5 hours and is suitable for all ages; perfect for team-buildingAll harvests and ingredients are included in the cooking sessionThe farm promotes sustainability and social inclusion, so your visit supports local green initiatives and community projects

Meet your host
City Sprouts started with a simple idea: that even in land-scarce Singapore, farming could be a way to bring people closer - to food, to nature, and to one another.
Founded as a social enterprise, City Sprouts transforms underused urban spaces into community farms where people don’t just grow food, but grow together. Their farms welcome seniors, youths and individuals with special needs as active participants, creating shared spaces for learning, contribution and connection.
Working closely with public agencies and local communities, City Sprouts shows that even in a dense city, food can still be grown with care, and that farming can be as much about communities as it is about produce.
