Review Body: I know next to nothing about whisky, but I felt like I became some sort of amateur whiskey expert after doing this whisky tasting masterclass with the true expert - Geovenn - who goes back to Scotland once a year! Geovenn is truly amazing! The whole session was incredibly thoughtful and had so much depth - without it ever feeling intimidating.
From the moment we stepped into his cute shophouse in Katong (that he and his family actually live in), to having his senior cat and dog (Romeo & Juliet) join us, to tasting the whisky flight - it was amazing.
Geovenn’s amazing energy, storytelling skills and ability to break down complex concepts and processes really helped me to follow along and gain a new appreciation for whisky. As we tasted the whisky flight that he prepared for us, I love that he has the entire map of Scotland on the table and explained the different regions of Scotland and how that impacts the taste. Some were crisp and light, others were very peaty and smoky (my fave), and some even had notes of the sea. We also learnt how other factors like different casks (sherry, oak etc) influence flavour and colour during the maturation process. Even rainfall plasy a role! All this to say, Geovenn is the whisky GOAT and we had so much fun learning all about it!
It was also a lot of fun to checkout his massive whisky collection! Thanks Geovenn for the amazing hospitality - it was a wonderful night.

Review Body: Really enjoyed this one! Very well-curated flight of drams, felt a bit like we took a tour around Scotland hahaha, and the sequencing was good too.
The hosts were both very passionate and knowledgeable, and I lovedd that they met us at our different levels. My cousin had zero whisky knowledge and they didn’t bombard her with info, while I had some knowledge so it was intermediate level convo. Another friend had a lot more whisky knowledge and they matched him at a higher level of discussion!! They are also super attentive!! My cousin winced just once at one of the drams and they caught it instantly and suggested adding a bit water to “open it up”.
The space was soo nice too with Scottish music and some fabric deco. Overall really enjoyed it and learnt a lot. Super recommended~~

Review Body: I’m not much of a whisky drinker at all, but Geovenn’s warm hospitality, the cosy atmosphere of his shophouse, and his chillax pets, Romeo and Juliet, immediately put me at ease and made the whole experience so enjoyable.
Geovenn is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about whisky, but the way he shares his knowledge never makes us feel intimidated or out of our depth. Instead, it feels like we are being taken on a thoughtful, well-curated guided tasting journey through Scotland — relaxed, engaging and full of interesting nuggets of information.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique experience.

Review Body: Our time with Geovenn at the whisky tasting experience was amazing. Every part of the experience was very thoughtful and intentional - from the story behind the welcome drink, to the line-up of whiskies and the music playing in the background. For a beginner whisky drinker like me, the session was very accessible and easy to follow because of Geovenn's amazing ability to articulate what we were tasting and his wonderful storytelling skills! Thank you Geovenn (not forgetting Romeo & Juliet) for the memorable session!

Good whisky, great stories, and a cosy home vibe.
Set in a cosy home bar, this whisky tasting experience feels like being welcomed into the world of someone deeply devoted to Scotland and its whiskies. Whether you’re completely new to whisky or already familiar with the category, the tasting is designed to sharpen your palate and help you better understand what you genuinely enjoy.Across 6 thoughtfully curated pours, you’ll journey through different regions and styles of Scotland, accompanied by music, storytelling, and easy-to-follow explanations that make even complex whiskies feel approachable. Depending on the session, you may explore whiskies from respected distilleries such as Benromach and Glen Scotia - each selected for its character, craftsmanship, and story. Your host personally sources rare, small-batch and cask-strength whiskies that are difficult to find in regular bars, making this a far more premium and personal experience than a standard tasting. What makes this special is how immersive it feels. As you taste, curated music and storytelling transport you across different regions of Scotland, while your host breaks everything down in a way that’s easy, engaging, and never overwhelming. With a cosy home setting, beautifully arranged bar, and even the occasional visit from his dog and cat, the session feels personal, relaxed, and refreshingly unpretentious despite the calibre of whiskies being poured. You’ll leave not just having tasted great whisky, but with the confidence to order, choose, and enjoy whisky your own way. What to ExpectWelcome drink and 6 whisky tastersSide-by-side tasting to help you compare styles and find what suits your palateIntroduction to Scottish whisky regions, flavour profiles, and the distillation processStories about the places the whiskies come from, with music and a map of Scotland to set the sceneTime to ask questions and revisit pours as you narrow down your favouriteGood to KnowBeginner-friendly. Meet your host
Founded in 2026 by a husband-and-wife team, Geovenn & Marie bring together their love of Scotland, whisky and Peranakan culture in a way that feels very rooted in Katong. Their experiences are shaped around the idea of exploring Scotland through whisky, while keeping a strong connection to local heritage and community. What makes them distinctive is this unusual blend of Scottish whisky storytelling in the heart of a Peranakan neighbourhood. They also try to keep things as low-waste as possible, with thoughtful, sustainable preparation behind the scenes. Any experience with them feels personal, cultural and closely tied to the local area.
