Review Body: This tour was an unforgettable adventure, offering an amazing blend of natural beauty and cultural experiences. While the accommodations aren’t luxurious, they were clean, comfortable, and perfect for a trip focused on exploring rather than resort-style stays. The itinerary is all about immersing yourself in nature, and I truly appreciated that. We requested to eat at some local warungs instead of fancy restaurants, and our main guide, Yogi, took us to some amazing spots. The food was authentic and delicious, and you could really feel the love and care that went into preparing each meal. It was such a great way to connect with the local way of life and enjoy the true flavors of the region. The guides were incredibly helpful, adaptive to our needs, and always went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. For instance, the guide at Tumpak Sewu Waterfall took some incredible videos for us, constantly wiping the mist off our phones to make sure we captured every moment. The Ijen trek was tough, but it was one of the most rewarding hikes I’ve done. Although we encountered a few challenges along the way (like the flames being put out and the lake being closed for safety reasons), the guides worked hard to adapt and still made sure we had a great experience. The views at the top of Ijen were absolutely spectacular, and the trek itself was something I will always remember. This trip was also perfect for our teenage kids, who absolutely loved the experience. They were fully immersed in the adventure and enjoyed every part of it, from the hikes to the cultural encounters. Even simple stops at Indo Mart and Alpha Mart became highlights for the kids—they loved seeing local snacks and drinks and experiencing everyday life in Indonesia. Tips for Future Guests: Don’t Expect Luxury: This is a trip focused on nature and adventure, not a resort stay. Accommodations are simple but comfortable—perfect for the experience you’re after. Be Ready for a Tough Trek: The Ijen trek is challenging, but it’s worth every bit of effort. A Trekking Pole: A trekking pole would be very useful for the Ijen trek—it provides extra stability, especially on the steeper sections. Go With the Flow: Some things might not go as planned (like Ijen’s closed lake), but the guides are excellent at making adjustments and ensuring you still get the most out of every experience. Immerse Yourself in the Culture: If you're into local culture, request to eat at some of the warungs instead of the more touristy spots. Yogi took us to some hidden gems that gave us a deeper connection to Indonesian culture. Capture the Moments: Take advantage of the opportunity for photos and videos. The guides are great at helping you capture the best moments, even under tricky conditions. Get Some Rest During the Drives: The drives can be long and winding, so make sure to get some sleep during the journey to recharge for the next adventure! Travel Sickness: If you're prone to travel sickness, make sure to carry some medicine with you as some of the drives can be winding and long. Ijen Trek – For Small Kids or Older People: If you're traveling with small kids or older people, or those who might struggle with the tough trek, you can use the "Lamborghini or Ferrari" service at Ijen to assist. This option helps get less able travelers up the slopes and down, but it’s a bit expensive—about 1.5 million IDR. It requires three people to help one tourist, but it's a good option if you need extra support. If you're looking for an immersive, challenging, and rewarding adventure, I highly recommend this tour. It’s a perfect fit for families, especially those with teenage kids!

Review Body: My partner and I took the 4D3N Tumpak/bromo/ijen tour with a private driver and could not recommend this enough. Over the course of the 4 days, we were driven by Achmad (Azim) - who was extremely accommodating with our requests throughout and forthcoming with any information we required. Specifically, on the first evening Achmad agreed to eat with us at our request and provided a comprehensive run through of the days ahead as well as talking to us about his own life in Indonesia and window into the local way of life. Each tour had its own benefits, in each case accompanied by very knowledgeable English speaking guides. Particularly during the Ijen tour where our guide went above and beyond in difficult conditions to ensure we were one of the first to summit the mountain and see the blue flame - which many other groups subsequently missed out on. For future guests, my only advice would be to ensure you’re fully aware of the physical demands of the activities you’re signing up for prior to booking. Tumpak sewu required a steep climb out of the waterfall valley, whilst Bromo also required a reasoned degree of fitness to first climb the viewpoint and then later the crater itself. However, by far the most challenging activity is the final Ijen climb - particularly after three days of long drives and little sleep. With regards to Boyo tours, I don’t believe there could be a better alternative available should you want to do this style of tour. Every effort was made to accommodate our travel arrangements; requests were actioned promptly and communication was strong throughout. Prior to attending the tour some previous reviews I read referenced the standard of accommodations. For me, the three seperate home stays we used were more than suitable - clean beds, hot showers and plenty of room - far exceeding previous such tours we have taken in Vietnam or the Philippines. NB - on first evening in Tumpak Sewu, ensure to eat at Resto Sambas a short walk/drive from the Homestay. This was genuinely one of the best meals we ate in Indonesia to date and the family running the business were fantastic.

Review Body: Wir haben über SeekSophie die 4N3D Rainbow Village/Tumpak Sewu Waterfall/Bromo/Ijrn Tour gemacht mit Abholung in Yogyakarta! Der Reiseveranstalter hat uns vorab via whatsapp kontaktiert und alle Infos zur Tour und Packliste geschickt und einen detaillierten Zeitplan! Zwei Tage vor Start hat uns auch der Fahrer der ganzen Tour via whatsapp kontaktiert. So hatten wir vorab schon alle Kontakte und konnten kommunizieren. Unser Fahrer Bagus hat uns in Yogyakarta abgeholt. Er war überpünktlich beim Hotel. Er hat uns immer informiert wo er ist und gleich abgestimmt wann wir losfahren wollen. Er hat uns freundlich empfangen, wir haben ein Foto gemacht und dann ging es gleich los. Wir waren 4 Tage unterwegs und Bagus ist ein sehr guter Fahrer, wir fühlten uns siper sicher! Er hat uns immer gefragt ob wir was essen wollen oder stoppen wollen - er hat sich wirklich sehr gut gekümmert! Er ist zu jedem Eingang mitgegangen, hatte alle Tickets und kannte alle Guides- er hat uns super unterstützt, wo er nur konnte! Danke Bagus für alles!! 🙏🙏 Die Tour war auch gut organisiert, der Zeitplan hat immer genau gestimmt. Alles Guides waren sehr freundlich und sprachen englisch, die Unterkünfte auch ideal und jede Tour empfehlenswert! Wir waren eigentlich überall vor den Touristenmassen, was auch super war! Danke an segit & adi für die lustige Tour bei den Tumpak Sewu Wasserfällen, jodi für die tolle tour am mt bromo! Am mt ijen war der guide auch sehr nett und lustig, aber er meinte man sieht heute keine blue fire, weil man nicht in den krater gehen kann bzw nur ganz oben wo es krine feuer gibt und wir lassen das aus. Das war schade, weil alle anderen guides in den krater gegangen sind. Aber dafür hatten wir einen schönen Sonnenaufgang! Man sollte sich auf lange Wege und wenig schlaf einstellen, aber das weis man ja vorab! Danke Boyo Travel & Bagus, dass ihr Ost-Java unvergesslich für uns gemacht habt.

Review Body: WOW wow wow! This trip was INCREDIBLE! Our driver was Galang, and he was amazing. He was very patient, and was very helpful. He would always stop when we needed on long drives for lunch, and snacks and the bathroom. He was incredibly kind. He also drove very safe and we always felt comfortable and taken care of. Also it was so good to do this tour instead of doing something ourselves as it was very well organized and we always had a guaranteed driver. The drives in between were long- but we are a big group of friends and talked on the drives, slept to catch up on sleep from the early morning hikes which was awesome, and played card games which made the drives enjoyable. As for the tour itself, all the sites are BEAUTIFUL and once in a lifetime. I am unsure why some of the reviews say that the home stays were not nice, because we felt very comfortable and very safe. The home stays are not fancy by any means (but that’s what makes it fun), but they are very cute and comfortable. I would highly suggest doing this tour at the BEGINNING of your trip, as you likely won’t be adjusted to the time change (if you have a big one)- and that way it was easier to fall asleep earlier and wake up earlier for the hikes. Mount bromo is not a very long hike like 30 mins but has stairs so definitely some good cardio. Mount ijen is about an hour - 1.5 hours to the top and that hike was very steep. Just make sure to take breaks when you need, and you will be more than fine. There are also 6 checkpoints with water and snacks and a bathroom about halfway up, so it is good for breaks. Overall, I would do this tour again and again. The views and experience was truly amazing and worth it all. All the guides on the hikes also took so many pictures of us which was great so we didn’t need to worry much about taking pictures. 100000/10!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Review Body: Everything was smooth from the get-go: the booking experience itself on the website and getting an almost immediate follow-up via WhatsApp to confirm pick-up and drop-off details. Communication was smooth and replies were always prompt. Also super glad that they were able to include one more location into the itinerary per my request to Madakaripura Waterfalls (at additional cost). Instructions were clear and driver was friendly throughout the 4 days and very skilled to cover long distances and regulate his way around traffic. Felt safe and taken care of each step of the way. Car was also clean and comfortable (caveat, I was a solo traveller so had all the space to myself). The different venue / location guides (Tumpak Sewu with Pak Min, Bromo with Ricky and Ijen with Ahmed) were also great at leading and showing me around the sites and value added by taking gorgeous photos and videos (you can tell they are trained as they know the best spots and poses to recommend even if you’re an awkward turtle like me in front of any camera). The hotels / accommodations were also ok - clean and not too shabby. Just don’t expect 5-Star luxury comforts with bathtubs and rainshowers- this is not that kind of trip. What was most important was they were clean, had hot showers and working air-conditioners to beat the heat and had an attached restaurant you could order food from. Basic essentials sorted. I had an excellent time and highly recommend this trip (: In the meantime enjoy some photos of my #legotravelcompanion #boywithbackpack at each of the 5 locations (Rainbow Village, Tumpak Sewu, Bromo, Madakaripura & Ijen) P/S - keen to explore other parts of Indonesia now especially Nusa Timur Tenggara Timur!

Review Body: I honestly couldn’t recommend this trip enough. From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organised, making the whole experience completely stress-free. A huge thank you to our main guide, Bayu, who was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire trip. He was so friendly, approachable and genuinely cared that everyone had the best possible experience. He always made sure we were comfortable, kept us informed about what was happening next, and created such a fun atmosphere within the group. The rest of the guides were equally brilliant. They were always looking out for our safety, especially during the hikes, while also going above and beyond to help everyone take amazing photos at each destination. They knew all the best viewpoints and happily took countless pictures for us, which made the experience even more memorable. One of the biggest advantages of booking this package is how effortless it makes everything. Accommodation, transport between all the destinations, much of the food, and even specialist equipment like the gas masks for Ijen are all included (though you have to rent shoes for Tumpak Sewu). It meant we could simply enjoy the trip without worrying about organising logistics ourselves. Every stop was stunning, from Tumpak Sewu to Bromo and Ijen, and the entire itinerary was so well planned. It struck a great balance between adventure, sightseeing and comfort. Overall, this was one of the best travel experiences I’ve had. The organisation was excellent, the guides were amazing, and Bayu really made the trip special. I’ve already recommended this package to friends, and I’ll continue recommending it to anyone thinking of visiting East Java. You won’t regret booking it!

Review Body: From start to finish this was an amazing experience. Of course tumpak sewu, bromo and ijen were amazing, but what really made this tour were our guides and driver :) From pick up, our driver Eng met us with a sign and took us straight to get some lunch after our long journey. Eng was a delight from start to finish, to making us laugh, to driving slowly when we were sleeping & stopping at multiple toilets/supermarkets across the 4 days. His English was great, it definitely exceeded what we were expecting from the description. Eng’s personality was infectious, and each stop we went to he had a lot of friends, this got us talking to everyone! The car was comfortable, with seats already reclined and a little pillow. A special thanks to each one of our guides; Rizal, Quin and Iza! All spoke great English with great knowledge of their areas, not to mention their talented photography :) Overall, our homestays were all lovely, clean big beds, aircon and working showers and toilets, we slept very well in each one. The early starts are hard, and the hikes are challenging (although really not as bad as some people say), but when everything is prepared for you and you have high energy guides with you, it’s a great experience. From what I have heard of other tours, they cram a lot more in, with harsher check out times and itinerary’s. We loved being able to do what we wanted at all times, especially taking longer at viewpoints for pictures & drone shots!

Review Body: All three hikes: Tumpak Sewu waterfall, Mt. Bromo, and Mt. Ijen, were worth doing. Such beautiful scenery and impressive landscapes. The start times each morning get progressively earlier, and the ordering of the hikes means that you build up stamina as the days go on, so you can sort of ease into the routine. Once you've finished each hike in the morning, there's some time to pack up and check out, drive to the next location, and just relax for the whole afternoon/evening. It's 120m down (and back up) along slippery steps to the bottom of Tumpak Sewu waterfall. The Mt. Bromo trip has two hikes - one to a viewpoint to watch the sunlight hit Mt. Bromo at sunrise, followed by another to climb to the rim of the crater, but both are fairly quick, and the jeep ride between them makes it manageable. The Mt. Ijen hike was probably the most difficult, but there are plenty of stops along the way. Our driver, Heri, was brilliant, and the accommodation for each night was great. If you're short on time and want to see the best natural spots in East Java (as well as the rainbow village in Malang), this tour is the right one to choose.

Review Body: I traveled solo, and while I was a little nervous at first, the guides instantly put me at ease. Their kindness and attentiveness made me feel safe every step of the way, which turned what could have been a daunting trip into such a comforting and joyful experience. Hiking through waterfalls and volcanoes felt magical — challenging at times, but deeply rewarding. A huge thank you to Boyo Tour & Travel, my driver Alpan, and guides: Pak Min, Pak Selamat, and Imash.. I’m so grateful for the way they looked out for me. Tips: - Start early to soak in the peace and avoid the crowds. - Having snacks handy made the long hikes so much easier and gave me the energy to keep going. - Travel between sites can take 3–4 hours, so car naps are a great way to rest and recharge along the way. - If you have extra time, do a little research and plan ahead — you might uncover other hidden gems like Goa Tetes or Kapas Biru Waterfall.

Review Body: I booked the 4D3N tour and I highly recommend it. We were a group of 6 friends, we had a pick up in Bali (Canggu) and a van came just in front of the door and drove us to the harbour. The ferry tickets to go to Java island were included. Once there, we met Bayu, our driver for those 4 days. We had a van for 11 people just for the 6 of us, so it was really comfortable and convient for our luggage. Bayu was very professional and kind. He drove us to nice restaurants (lunchs and diners not included in the price) during the tour. The 3 homestays were really beautiful, modern and clean. For the mount Ijen, tumpak sewu waterfall, and mount bromo, we had different guides. The 3 of them were really kind, took a lot of pictures of us and sent them to us just afterwards. The awakenings were really early but it was worth it ! Bayu finally drove us to Surabaya airport and we flew back to Bali. Thank you !

Review Body: We had a great trip 4d3n across the east of java. Pro: Everything worked out as planned and as it was as described. The schedule was on point and so we were ahead of the masses of other tourists each time. The accomodations were really nice and chosen in such a way, that we didn't have to drive too long each day to reach the daily goal. Con: The guides involved did not speak too much English. Sometimes it would have been nice to get some additional Information on certain areas, but in the end this did not bother us too much. Our Ijen guide spoke pretty well though. Neutral: Unfortunately we were missing one guide we booked, but after a short message to the Seek Sophie team the issue was resolved quickly in an uncomplicated manner. Overall we had a great time with our guides and the overall experience. We can just recommend the team. We would give 4.5/5 stars but so it sums up to 5.

Review Body: The Bromo Ijen trip we booked has been one of the most enjoyable travel experiences we’ve been on. The travel guides were responsive and incredibly helpful. Our driver was cheerful and always kept us on track with time on our trips between Surabaya, Tumpak sewu, Bromo and Ijen. For the activities themselves, rainbow village is a cute little stop on what is otherwise a big initial travel day. Tumpak Sewu was easily the most powerful and impressive waterfall I’ve seen. The early hike down helps avoid much of the busy crowds and the guides are wonderful. Both Bromo and Ijen had some of the most majestic sunrises and views I’ve seen. You feel like you are standing on top of the word. The whole tour was such a special experience. Would 100% recommend the Seek Sophie and Boyo travel teams.

Review Body: It was an amazing trip, full of interesting sights! All the staff, guides, and driver were so kind and welcoming! They helped us take photos and shared interesting stories about the places we visited! We had wonderful accommodations throughout the trip, and we could spend as much time as we wanted wherever we wanted, which is very important to us because we love taking lots of photos, flying drones, and simply enjoying nature without rushing! We were happy to have a private car and the freedom to choose our own restaurants along the way. I had a birthday during the trip, and a surprise cake awaited me at the hotel after climbing Bromo! Review Body: This tour was more than everything we could ask for, price was very reasonable too! Accommodations were much comfortable than we expected, and staff were friendly. Although there were some hiccups along the way in terms of communication, itinerary and travel time, it was managed to be resolved while we were there and boyo travel operator was fast in response. Tips: - Bring your own toiletries! (There’s no hairdryers too) - Travelling time may range from 3 to 7 hours so be prepared for long drives - Driver and most tour guides speak minimal English, google translation will be a great way to communicate! 😉 - Bringing a hiking stick will be very helpful - Be ready to get sore thighs calves and knees as there are steep hikes - steeper than Bukit Timah hill🤣 (we brought salonpas)

Review Body: We went on a 4D3N trip organized by Boyo Travels. Everything was great and every day was very memorable. The homestays were decent, with decent food, and local travel was comfortable. Local guides at all 3 locations (Tumpak Sewu, Mt Bromo and Mt Ijen) were very helpful - they were very patient with our family of 6, knew all the good /less crowded photo spots, took so many photos for us and guided us well with local information. Our guide Verol at Tumpak Sewu was so well skilled at photography. Special thanks to our driver Bayu who accompanied us for all 4 days and was the real MVP ! A quiet guy but always showed up when it mattered - always punctual and always available to help! Overall - no complaints! A very happy customer of the tour and can highly recommend it to everyone!

Review Body: We are a group of 6 from Italy. We found SeekSophie online, while looking for East Giava experiences. We booked the trip for 4 days and 3 nights for Tempak Sewu, Mount Bromo and Ijen. Our driver picked us up from Surabaya and dropped us off at Ketapang Harbour. He's been always on time and helpful. Our hosts and guides have been very kind and welcoming. We were very happy with our accommodations, perfect for our trip. Unfortunately Mount Ijen closed because of a fire few days before our trip, but the agency ave us valid alternatives or a partial refund with the cancelation of the last day, and we were very happy for this. It's been a one in a lifetime experience. We highly recommend SeekSophie.

Review Body: I enjoyed every bit of my trip. Warm hospitality from the driver and guide. Goes according to plan. Everything went well. Thank you team :) For area of improvement would be the itinerary. I believe many would prefer if their plan goes like this 1st day - free and easy 2nd day - Ijen 3rd day - Tumpak sewu 4th day - Mt Bromo However, my day 4 was Ijen, and it was a rush hike up and down as I had a flight to catch at 6.50 p.m. From Ijen to Surabaya airport will take approximately 6-8hr depending on the traffic. I think there's too much risk involved here if guests have a flight to catch on day 4 coming from Ijen. I would recommend day 4 would be Mt Bromo as its nearer to airport.

The accomodations were comfortable (ranging from ok at Tumpak Sewu to excellent at Ijen) and the food was simple and tasty. Our driver Riski was confident behind the wheel and made our trip very comfortable and safe. Local guides were all great, taking awesome photos and keeping us safe during challenging treks. Urus at Tumpak Sewu was full of positive energy and Jizat at Ijen went above and beyond, making sure that I got the best experience possible.
