Learn how local plants can become delicious everyday ingredients.
This intimate workshop invites you to see Singapore through an entirely different lens - one where the city's edible plants become part of your everyday kitchen.Hosted by Lita, you'll learn from someone who has spent years uncovering the culinary potential hidden in Singapore's own landscape. Her mission is simple yet inspiring: to help people rediscover the incredible ingredients growing around us and realise that eating locally can begin with the plants already thriving in our own backyards. The experience begins in Lita's lush balcony garden, where you'll harvest whatever is flourishing that day before transforming your picks into fragrant herb butter, olive oil or vinaigrette. You'll then bake a soft pull-apart bread infused with fresh herbs, enjoying it warm from the oven with everything you've just prepared. Every ingredient used throughout the class can be easily found or grown in Singapore, so the skills you pick up can be replicated again and again!More than teaching recipes, Lita teaches you how to look at food differently. Over botanical teas brewed from Singapore-grown plants, she'll happily answer every question you've ever had about edible herbs or what to do with an unusual leaf you've spotted at the market. You'll leave with practical ideas for bringing more Singapore-grown plants into your own cooking, along with a renewed appreciation for the abundance that exists right here at home.
