Review Body: I don't usually write long reviews but this was such a hidden gem! Glad to have discovered this through seeksophie even though there's tons of homestays here in Sapa. Thuy and family are very friendly and welcoming! The trek to the nearby village was great and we experienced local culture among breathtaking scenery. Ecohills homestay had beautiful views being perched on the mid hill, massage was cheap and good but the best experience was the homestay dinner! They are ala carte prices but very reasonable and delicious. The homestay is run by a loving young couple and family, really glad to have met them. Some points to note: There's a 200m walk with steep slope from the car dropoff up to the homestay, motorbikes are able to go up all the way. Recommend to avoid large luggages and come in the cooler weathers for lesser bugs.

Review Body: Absolutely Worth It! This homestay is totally worth every cent—I absolutely loved my stay here! The food they served was incredibly delicious, and the host was so friendly and welcoming. They consistently checked in to make sure I was okay and did everything to ensure my stay was comfortable. Now for the room—wow! I had a private room with an attached toilet, and it was amazing. The view from my bed was beautiful, and the cleanliness was top-notch—100%! The toilet had hot water, and the bed was super comfortable. I had one of the best nights of rest here. Highly recommended!

Review Body: This was such an amazing experience! We had a lovely time, our room was great, very modern and had everything we needed with an incredible view! The host family was lovely and cooked us a delicious meals. They were very helpful and arranged transport to and from Sapa town and a lovely trekking guide. Our guide was called Mimi and she was great! Very friendly and informative about the local tribes and took us on an amazing trek! Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re coming to Sapa.

Review Body: Sen’s home was the highlight of our trip in Sapa. We enjoyed admiring the beauty of Sapa in the comforts of our room. The home was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, overlooking the paddy fields and mountains. There was much thought put into the design of the room for the convenience of the guests (i.e. mosquito netting, many hangers, small wall lamp, towels of different sizes). We loved hanging out at the balcony. Located in Tavan away from the crowds, Sen’s place is serene and quiet, perfect for a relaxing and peaceful rest. The amenities include fan in the room, hair dryer, heater under the mattress, laundry, trekking tours, foot massages and cooking classes. We had breakfast and dinner at Sen’s place, which were home-cooked and delicious. I highly recommend the spring rolls, pho and fried banana rolls. We could grab drinks from the chiller as and when as well. Navigating within Sapa was made incredibly easy with Sen’s help as she arranged for personal drivers to pick us up wherever, so long as we provide her with the address and time beforehand. We did not experience any hiccups (waiting or delays) and was always brought to our destination safely and on time. (Note: the roads are bumpy due to construction works and may not be suitable for those with motion-sickness but we were fine with it) Sen’s home is approximately 30min drive away from Sapa town by taxi. What differentiates this accommodation from others is not only the beauty and cleanliness of the room but the sincerity and excellent hospitality of the host. Sen is a very diligent, kind, meticulous and amicable individual. Would 10/10 definitely recommend Eco Hills to anyone visiting Sapa. Thank you for hosting us☺️

Review Body: Located up on a hill overlooking the rice terraces in Ta Van, Eco Hills Homestay Sapa is a 45 minutes taxi ride away from Sapa town which should cost about VND200k one way (not including the VND75k entrance fee to Ta Van village), and a brief walk up a steep slope from the main road. There are 5 rustic bungalows to choose from, all offering spectacular views especially at sunrise. The bed was comfortable and the sheets spotless, while the bathroom was well maintained and the hot water shower worked fine. For cold nights, the heated mattress can be turned on while an electric heater provides additional warmth. For those who can't disconnect entirely, free Wi-Fi is available only at the common area. All my meals at the homestay were fantastic. Reasonably priced, great taste and generous portions. I recommend the deep fried spring rolls with minced pork and the lemongrass tea. Since the homestay is located on higher ground, exploring the surrounding area is a leisurely downhill walk as you take in the sights and sounds of village life such as chickens, ducks and water buffalo roaming free, and local Black Hmong villagers going about their daily life. My 2 nights at the homestay was the highlight of my trip to Sapa. Communication with the host Sen was excellent from pre-arrival up to my departure from the homestay and she provided all the necessary information for a smooth trip. I highly recommend staying here to experience rural Vietnam but with all the comforts of modern amenities.

Review Body: It’s a brand new business, run by Sen and Loi, and we couldn’t recommend it enough. Such a welcoming atmosphere, we loved sitting in the common area with both of them and talking, enjoying the view from the balcony and can’t fault the quality of the food (Loi used to be a chef in Sa Pa, and upon learning my partner is also a chef, he personally cooked the Homestay a meal). We spend ages looking through reviews and finally settled on Golden Rice Garden (about 1 kilometre away), and after booking Loi messaged asking if we would like to switch to his other property run by his wife, Eco Hills as we would have a better view in a private bungelow- we are so glad we got the opportunity to stay! For us one day of “easy” trekking was enough, challenging but SO worth the views, Sen and Loi arranged for a local guide and she was brilliant! You can definitely tell that they both have a customer service background, helping us with whatever we needed including recommendations of where to stay in other cities/towns. Point of difference from other places we have stayed in Vietnam: You can pay by cash or card (there is a 3% surcharge by banks - fairly standard), so secluded and private, HOT showers, private balcony on all the bungelows. Not to mention the best views from any Homestay in Ta Van (Sa Pa) We wish them the best of luck with their baby due very soon!

Review Body: Sen was amazing in coordinating the homestay to make sure everything was smooth sailing and well conducted. She helped us to book a ride from the cable car descent from Fansipan and Zinc (her assistant) greeted us warmly at the homestay itself, offering cold drinks and snacks to welcome us in. We were not tired during day 1 and decided to take up their offer of doing a cooking class and we cooked papaya salad and bamboo chicken! Their guidance together with the chef was amazing and we enjoyed a feast, there were excessive ingredients and we decided to use them all and offer some of the food to the hosts as well and they enjoyed it very much. The tour itself was fun but met with slippery slopes and rocks and hardsell souvenirs from kids, the view was not too shabby at the waterfall and the food cooked was amazing by the guide! However, the foot massage portion of the trip was missing even though it was indicated and we had to go back and forth between communication only to ultimately realise that Seek Sophie did not update the details on the website and decided to compensate us with a voucher instead (thank you!). Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay with the hosts and we would definitely go for such an experience again if given the opportunity, thank you Seek Sophie!

Review Body: The location is remote, quiet and beautiful. The view from the homestay is stunning - on a sunny day;-) We spent two nights in Sen’s homestay and despite the thick mist on the first day, we enjoyed every single minute of it. The room was very clean. The mattresses had even a built-in heater. And the view was amazing through the large, front window, not to mention the balcony. The food was very good; you can also eat outside. We enjoyed a lot the hot pot. The 14km hike with our guide Mimi was a highlight; we discovered so many aspects of the minorities’ way of living. The path through the rice terraces, forests and on the mountain trails was enchanting, even on a very misty day. On the second day we repeated about the same hike but this time with clear weather. The landscape is breathtaking; how they sculpted the slopes with tiny rice terraces looks fabulous. Sen and her staff have been of great help. She organised all transfers and bus tickets, including the guided hike. If you like it quiet, are interested in other cultures, and love to wander through amazing landscapes, it’s the right place! The breakfast was very good but may not be enough for certain tummies. I asked once for more and I received a second portion without being charged - thanks

Review Body: My partner and our 2 friends stayed here for 3 nights in November during a 3 week visit to Vietnam. It was by far my favourite place in terms of the overall experience. Getting there is a slight challenge as its approximately 150 steps uphill from the road but its worth it! Sen and her family are so friendly and welcoming. We felt like we were at home dining amongst them in the evenings and really enjoyed our chats with them. The food was exceptional...you get to choose from a varied menu each night. I highly recommend the vegan spring rolls! I really liked that we could access the fridge to get beers ourselves and were trusted to keep a note of them ready for paying on check out. Sen arranged a trek which included lunch with a local family for us. It was well organised and they catered for us starting a little later than usual due to us travelling for so long the day before. The huts are on stilts with a beautiful view. They are small but suited our needs. heated blankets were provided which I absolutely loved. Fresh fruit was provided in the rooms and some basic toiletries also. If I go back to Vietnam, I'd 100% stay here again. Thank you Sen and family for being such fantastic hosts and making our trip so memorable!

Review Body: Our hotel in Hanoi (Heart Hotel) booked for us to stay here as an upgrade to a 3 days, 2 nights trip from Hanoi - this was our home stay night and the Flower Hotel in Sapa for the other night. After 3-4 hours of walking, the last hour and half being in torrential rain, our local guide split off from the main path. 10 minutes later we spotted our bungalow looking out on stilts across the valley. The very friendly owner greeted and invited us in. The communal space is rustic and open with a really friendly atmosphere. We were shown to our bungalow: a very comfortable size with a well fitted en suite. The mosquito net was drawn back decoratively as we entered so that we wre hit with the full impact of the view - absolutely stunning. By far the most impressive place I've ever stayed. Our evening meal was fantastic - all freshly made: spring rolls, chicken curry, pork stir fry and drinks. Really high end stuff cooked fresh on site. Absolutely gutted that we were only booked in for one night - would definitely want to return. After dinner we sat out on our private balcony with a couple of beers watching the thunderstorm make its way up the valley - absolutely stunning

Review Body: Tim, Sen and their entire family were very welcoming and accommodating during our wonderful stay at eco hills! If you get a chance to go to Sapa, you should stay here. The bungalow, food, and service were all amazing. They arranged for a private trek through sapa valley, assisted in delivering mopeds right to our bungalow, and provided delicious home cooked meals daily. The bungalow itself was beautiful, offered a great view inside the valley and had a very cute authentic decor. The water was very hot, and they had heaters and heated blankets in the room so it was nice and toasty on the colder nights. So glad we stayed in the valley instead of in the main town of sapa! The view was better lower in the valley as it sat below the cloud line. The WiFi did not work in the individual bungalows, but worked in the main dining hall. Thank you so much for a wonderful home stay experience!!

Review Body: Mrs Sen is lovely. She arranged a driver to collect us from the Sapa Express bus stop for 200,000 VND. I would recommend this as the homestay is a bit off the beaten track and would be difficult to get to for someone who doesn't know exactly where it is. Grab wasn't working for us in Sapa, and apparently can be unreliable out there. The location is excellent. We were out in a small village just outside sapa. It's very picturesque and you are literally on the doorstep of the rice paddy fields. We went for a lovely walk in the local area and it was beauitful. The room was fantastic with a balcony giving excellent views over the valley and rice paddy fields. There is a mosquito net covering the bed. Wifi is available, but not in your rooms. This isn't really an issue though. The food served by Mrs Sen and her family is great, it's home-cooked and delicious

Review Body: I see a lot of hotels for my work across the globe but this homestay was the best experience I have ever got. The village of Ta Van is located outside Sapa town. Sapa itself is not like the images on google. Ta Van instead is what you want to see when visiting this Area. Beautifull and breathtaking view. The Homestay of Eco Hills is runned by Sen and her family. They all do this with a warm heart and passion and give you a fairy tale experience. The treehouses are located on a mountain edge has a big window where you can lay down in bed and enjoy the scene and the breathtaking view. Sen and her family gives you 5 stars service combined with love. Which you can't get anywhere else in the world for a homestay accomodation. Book this if you want to experience "Sapa" like the google images. Sen and her family will help you out when you need anything.

Review Body: Just had two nights at Eco Hills and loved it. Sen contacted us in advance without prompting and organised our taxi from Sapa. She also provided information on meals and organised treks. She kept in touch regularly during our bus trip to Sapa to make sure we were ok. The bungalows are very adequate for a couple. Clean with some nice detailed touches to make your stay more comfortable eg mosquito net, fan heater and electric blanket. Sen is always willing to arrange treks and taxis and give you information on the area. There are great views from the bungalow balcony as well as the sun patio. To top things off Sen and her extended family are very friendly and made us feel very welcome during our stay. We're glad we chose Eco Hills and would recommend it.

Review Body: Absolutely amazing!! We’ve been in Vietnam for 10 days so far and Eco Hills Homestay is the best place we’ve stayed so far! The wooden huts on stilts are AMAZING, simple and very clean inside, with a decent sized bathroom! The bedroom has a window out onto a private balcony which just has the most amazing view of the rice fields. Sen and her husband are super friendly, and really took the time to chat to us at dinner time and offer advise on what hiking tour would be best suited for us (definitely book a hiking tour if you visit, it’s the best way to see the local villages and the best views in Sapa)!! The home cooked food for breakfast and dinner was 10/10. Delicious and lots of vegetarian options!

Review Body: I had a good time during my 3 days stay in one of the nice bungalows. The place is in summary very clean and the hosts are very friendly and helpful. It has to be clear that the location is not central and that it is not possible to walk to Sapa. But maybe that's what you're looking for? The drive to Sapa takes about 30 minutes but I did not find the "city" very nice. Many big hotels, construction sites and dirt. I liked it better out there. I also booked a tour of the hosts which is very interesting. The price for this is relatively high at $ 40 but I was traveling alone and it took me almost the whole day. The food is also very good, not cheap but still recommended. I would come again.

Review Body: This place was simply one of the best of my trip in Vietnam. The bungalow is very nice and cute, very comfortable. The view is really great, when you woke up and you can see this view you know that this place is exceptional. The breakfast was really good and the owners of the place are really friendly and kind people. We talked a lot with them and it’s a family very interesting and nice with the customers. The place is very good in Sapa, but you need to walk like 15-20 min to walk until the place to eat in the city. It’s something fun to do and a great experience. To arrive to the homestay you have a big climb just before to arrive.

Review Body: This is a lovely place to stay. Sen is an excellent host, very friendly and helpful. The lodges are clean, food good and excellent views. We only stayed one night but wish it had been two. There is plenty enough to see and do to fill an extra day and it is such a relaxing place to be. Sen arranged for us to go trekking on one of our days which was an amazing experience. Our guide was really good and again spoke excellent English and very informative. Trekking up the mountain and across the paddy fields was great- although quite hairy at times! And a trip up the Fansipan mountain in the Cable Car is a must.

Review Body: This was our favourite accomodation out of a 3.5 week trip to Vietnam. Sen was away but her husband was lovely and made us feel so welcome. We got upgraded for free to a family size room meaning a double bed each, but a single room would have been equally magical. The staff were so kind - they organised a guided hike for us with really short notice, ordered our taxis to and from the homestay, and packed us breakfast for the morning we left as we wouldn't be around when the kitchen was open. Definitely coming back here. The homestay made us consider eloping to rural Vietnam. Can't recommend enough.
