4D3N trek to Maliau Basin - a unique off-the-beaten-path adventure full of wildlife spotting and scenic hikes.
This 4-day, 3-night adventure takes you into the heart of Maliau Basin — one of Borneo’s most remote and untouched rainforests, often called Sabah's Lost World. Unlike more popular jungle treks, this one’s for those who truly want to get off the beaten path. You’ll hike through dense rainforest, sleep in rustic jungle camps, and take refreshing dips under majestic waterfalls like Ginseng Falls and Maliau Falls.
What really sets this apart is the night drive on your first evening — a rare chance to spot nocturnal wildlife like civets, owls, and maybe even leopard cats. The following days are packed with forest hikes, river crossings, and waterfall swims as you explore this rarely visited biodiversity hotspot.
If you’re an adventure seeker who prefers leech socks over flip-flops and wild jungle trails over paved paths, this trip is your kind of fun. It’s not glamorous, but it’s the kind of raw, real nature experience that few travellers get to have.
