It’s an interesting and eye opening experience with the local market tour. Chef Duyen is very helpful in explaining and answering our questions. The hands on cook our lunch was also great fun for us, love our small group and get to know two new friends from Indonesia & Switzerland. Love the local cuisine we cooked and were so full. Also, thank so Chef Duyen’s two little helpers/photographer during the session. Highly recommend to experience a local home cooked meal.

Our instructor was very friendly and sweet...She explained everything clearly and gave us a lot of information on the local culture. And the food was excellent too... It also helped a lot that they arranged transport to the place and back. Great workshop, definitely recommend!

This was a delightful afternoon and evening experience for our family of four. Ethan is an exceptional teacher. He was a delight to speak to about any and everything connected to Vietnam, food, and more. As he was fluent in English we were so grateful to be able to speak at such length and learn so much--a real bonus for us who know no Vietnamese. The food we created was delicious, and Ethan made the experience interactive from start to finish. Above and beyond was the way he engaged our two children, age 10 and 13. They felt so comfortable with him and were provided with tasks that fit their skill level and taught them new cooking techniques.

Cooking with Chef Duyen was such an amazing local experience! Chef toured us round the local wet market, welcomed us into her home like old friends and guided us through preparing authentic Vietnamese dishes. We learned how to craft flavorful dishes, fresh herbs, and savory stir-fries, all while hearing rich stories behind each dishes. It felt like we were truly immersed in Vietnamese culture. The highlight was sharing the delicious meal together with her fam, leaving us with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for local home cooking. It’s been a wonderful experience and highly recommend this half day experience to anyone’s visiting Hanoi! ♥

Chef Duyen was a delight. She’s very knowledgeable about local cuisine and has a bubbly disposition. The cooking was done in her house and she (and her son) made us feel very welcome and right at home. The cooking itself was quite long and pretty intense but great for those who are passionate about it. We made soooo many dishes (I think 9 or 10?) so it's super worth it. Oh make sure you don't eat too much before coming as there will be a lot of food!

I very much enjoyed this cooking class with Chef Duyen! The market tour was very interesting and I loved how she was walking through all the different stalls and showing us the different ingredients and also giving us cooking advice about for example which garnish and which root to use of different meat dishes, whether it's chicken or pork or fish. So I think the entire cooking perspective of this tour and experience is very valuable, especially if you yourself are like a home chef etc. I think this would definitely be up your alley. One thing to note: there’s quite a bit of onion and shallot chopping involved, so if your eyes are sensitive (like mine were after recent eye surgery), it’s something to be aware of. Other than that, Chef Duyen was 10 out of 10 host, very passionate, very knowledgeable. The cooking space was clean, well designed and the lunch to meet some of the new people was also a really nice way to just share like a communal moment. Loved it!

This was such a great experience! We had so much fun learning about the local flavours you can find in Hanoi. The cooking class at the Chef Duyen's home kitchen was the perfect mix of relaxing and hands-on. Chef made everything so easy to follow and even shared cool tips about the ingredients and how they’re used in Vietnamese cooking. Making the dishes was really fun, and we even got to take the recipes home so we can make them again! It's a great way to connect with the local food scene. If you’re in Hanoi and love food, I’d totally recommend this!
