We booked the 5:00 am option and were the only group on the tour. Ngoc was shocked that we actually made it that early and went out of her way to give us the best experience possible. We borrowed some bikes from the artisans and rode around the village. We got to visit the market and learn from some of the other food vendors as well. The fresh tofu was delicious and most definitely the best tofu I’ve ever eaten! That said, this is much more than just a tofu experience, you really get a feel for the village life outside the touristy center or Hanoi. Also, for planning purposes: it’s mentioned that it may be difficult to catch a ride back to the city center from the village, this is probably true, but we did manage to get a grab directly from Ngoc’s home at the end.

Nice tour of local food spots in old quarter Hanoi. Lots of food, I was super full by the end.

Booked: Hidden Alley Food Tour in Hanoi
It was an awesome experience. It was very peaceful and quiet in the loud city Hanoi. We learned about the tea culture in North Vietnam and it was amazing to taste it in the tea. I can only recommend it. The tea is a bit pricey but I think well worth it for the quality.

I had an excellent food tour with Alex. So much good food I would never have tried without her expert local guidance. Highly recommended.

Booked: Hidden Alley Food Tour in Hanoi
The train ride itself is very loud. But you will experience this on every night train. We booked the deluxe cabin 4 beds and the beds were better than expected! Good mattrass (thick) and blanket. They provide earplugs, which are really necessary. Toilet was clean. Wifi on board worked most of the time.

Amazing, truly authentic experience. Ngoc is such a wonderful person, she’s really passionate about community, nature and sustainability. The tour is really well thought out - we were so interested in the tofu making process, and Ngoc took us round the village on bikes afterwards - showing us the rice being harvested. Highly recommend to anyone that wants to see a less touristy side of Hanoi, we’ll definitely remember this one!

We booked VIP cabin for 2 adults & 2 children to Sa Pa. Fuss free collection of tickets, access to VIP Lounge before entering Chapa Express. Very comfortable experience and great to see Hanoi Train Street from inside the wagon.
Pack the PJ’s into the handluggage for quick and convenient change of clothes. 2 large luggages and 2 cabin bags fit comfortably underneath the lower beds.
Highly recommend and would do it again!
