An amazing experience with traditional Sabah dishes. Dedie was lovely and explained the food and dishes so well. Lovely time, and perfect if you want to really experience Borneo and Sabah cuisine.

An amazing experience with traditional Sabah dishes. Dedie was lovely and explained the food and dishes so well. Lovely time, and perfect if you want to really experience Borneo and Sabah cuisine.

We thoroughly enjoyed this cooking class. Deedi was a great teacher, and we had a lot of fun preparing 6 different dishes, and it was very interesting. We used some new and unusual ingredients. The resulting feast was delicious with a range and depth of flavours - the best food we have had in Borneo! We would recommend this class to anyone, from novice to experienced chef.

We had a wonderful cooking class under the experienced guiding of Auntie Winnie! We liked that the cooking class toke place in her own back garden in the middle of the jungle. Both auntie Winnie and Judith were very kind and helpful and we had a great time with them. We would definitely recommend this course for the delicious food, local experience and above all the kind people involved!

Judith (homeowner/host), Auntie Winnie, Auntie Cindy and Bonny (chefs) were so warm and welcoming to us - they were absolutely lovely. We prepared over 5 delicious Sabah dishes and learnt lots along the way - Judith’s home in the local village was such a perfect and beautiful setting to have this experience. The operator was also kind enough to arrange a birthday cake for my wife (despite my last minute request thank you!). Judith is also very kindly photographed and videoed our experience. I would recommend this activity 10 out of 10 and would use this tour operator again for future Bornean activities.

Auntie Winnie is very nice. She taught us how to cook step by steps and showed us where the fresh ingredients came from, which were from her lovely garden. We enjoyed the cooking class very much and also the time spent with her and her family. Highly recommended this class to everyone.

Ron Wong started Borneo Overland in 2023, building on years of experience from his earlier adventures with Hannibal Overland in Singapore.
