What to do or see here

The best conditions weather-wise are July to September as it's dry season, however it does tend to get a bit busier during those months. If you don't mind a bit of rain, you can consider March and April.

Who is it for?

Khair, my tour guide was amazing, I highly recommend him and the services of Tropical Adventure Tours and Travel.

He was so passionate about the local wildlife and was great at pointing out creatures and cave symbols to me, sharing niche local knowledge which made my experience so special.

He was always punctual, highly knowledgeable and approachable, kind, highly passionate about his job as an eco-tourism guide and he always respected me and made me feel very safe as a female solo traveller.

I visited Mulu and it was my first ever time solo travelling. At first, I was concerned that I was allocated a male tour guide as a female alone on the tour where we would be without reception or phone battery at some points, yet Khair became a very good friend and a highly respectful guide who always steered clear of ever over stepping my boundaries. He cooked amazing food for me and put my care and safety first.

Our guide for the whole trip, Filipi was very knowledgable and experienced. He took good care of us and kept our spirits high with his dad jokes 😅. And the food was delicious! Loved the variety of veggies served for our meals. 😋 would highly recommend booking with them.

Highly recommended. One of the best tour group I have ever joined. The whole experience is seamless and fun. Food is great and the caves are amazing. Tour guide is engaging and professional. The climb to the Mulu Pinnacles is especially rewarding and the view at the top is nothing but spectacular.
 They even arranged a room for me to get a shower on the last day after the trek before I catch my flight.

Our trip to Mulu with Tropical Adventure Tours and Travel was fantastic. Everything exceeded expectations; from the caves to the Pinnacles climb. Our guide, Phillipi, was excellent. We enjoyed the wonderful jungle atmosphere, on the hikes and at Camp 5. The Mulu Marriott hotel is also very much recommended.
