Craft Batik Art in a Javanese Village | Support Artist Collective

Expert advice given in a gentle way. This was a perfect introduction to traditional batik method. The gallery also has superb work for sale in a variety of styles. 

Was fully immersive experience that was the first time for me, really incredible to do hands on batik art with both guidance and structure! Although there is 3 hours allocated you can stay longer for more layers of coloring or detailed design!

I did the ecoprint workshop with Ibu Pegi.
 It was really great!
 She explained what we were going to do and after that we looked for leaves and she also told me what colour they would become.
 After that the real work started.
 That was really nice to do.
 Ibu Pegi explained that whole proces and the girl made a lot of beautiful pictures and video's.
 I really enjoyed this, everybody was so nice and will do it again when I am in Yogya.
 I can highly recommend this workshop.🥰

Botanical Eco-Printing in a Yogyakarta Artist Village

I did the ecoprint workshop with Ibu Pegi.
It was really great!
She explained what we were going to do and after that we looked for leaves and she also told me what colour they would become.
After that the real work started.
That was really nice to do.
Ibu Pegi explained that whole proces and the girl made a lot of beautiful pictures and video's.
I really enjoyed this, everybody was so nice and will do it again when I am in Yogya.
I can highly recommend this workshop.🥰


There’s more than Batik here! I did an eco-print workshop and it was a really great way to spend my morning. The women show you different processes with leaves and flowers and then you create. There are different ways to create the prints so be sure to ask. I found the direct ‘hammer’ approach to be my favourite. Experiment and have fun! I would happily return for another workshop
