As the arrangement was a 2 on 1 with the coach, he could watch over us and gave us individual coaching when we were out catching the waves. He was also very encouraging!!

Review Body: Our surf instructor seemed super disinterested in teaching us. The water was NOT beginner friendly. We felt unsafe, not looked after and ultimately bailed after 45 minutes. We were literally thrown into the deep end after 10 mins of explanation. Our instructor seemed annoyed at us and didnt explain any mistakes. Being in the water was hectic and scary. Once we got out of the water he came out after 30 minutes (seemingly not caring if we were okay). The beach was busy, rips and waves not safe for beginners.

Review Body: Went surfing with Olas de Bali Surf School on Valentine’s Day. What an amazing way to spend the afternoon in the incredible Padang Padang surf! The lesson was well organised by Tino via WhatsApp and we met our surf coach at the entrance to the beach. Rash vest, surf board for your ability and leash provided by the surf school. Our coach took us through everything we needed to know to get us surfing and about the break. We were lucky and had perfect conditions warm sea, sunshine and 3’ and glassy waves. Our coach guided me through catching my first wave and I was standing straight away and enjoying the long ride to the shore. He also gave good advice to my partner who has surfed quite a few times before. Our coach was an incredible surfer too. We highly recommend this surf school. The tuition was good and we were well looked after. There was also a photographer on the shore so we have some amazing photos of our surf to share with friends. To sum up - great guys and a great break. Totally stoked and the highlight of our Bali trip.

Review Body: My husband and I went to Bali for our honeymoon and spent half of our trip in Uluwatu. What better place to take surf lessons for the first time than this notable surf town? We found Olas de Bali Surf School through an online search and I immediately had a great feeling about it. Tino was super responsive and helpful the entire time, especially with coordinating a driver to pick us up and drop us off from our hotel. Deden, our surf instructor was great and very skilled, polite and friendly. He helped teach us the basics of surfing, foot/body positioning, etc. He also made sure that we got adequate surf time. We were exhausted after our 2 hour private lesson. Honestly, it was one of our favorite memories from the trip. It got pretty crowded with lots of surfers after the first hour so I am glad we started early. Thanks Tino, Deden and team for making our first surf lesson so memorable! Would definitely book them again if (when) we're back in Bali!

Review Body: Fantastic experience! My fiance and I had our first ever go at surfing wother Olas dear Bali. We booked via WhatsApp with Tino, super easy booking and competitive prices with other schools in the area. Our instructor was Budi, who we can't thank enough. He was friendly, a skilled teacher, and had a lot of genuine enthusiasm for helping us learn! We both were able to catch several waves with his expertise and guidance. Tino was very friendly also and made sure to introduce himself and check in on the day also. We had loads of fun and felt as if we were among friends! Even got some great lunch reccommend after our lesson. We absolutely would have booked a few more lessons but unfortunately my fiance's shoulder (recently recovered from an injury) was a bit sore and needed a rest. We couldn't have had a better first experience with surfing and are hooked!

Review Body: I found out about Olas de Bali on here as myself and my girlfriend were in Uluwatu for a few days. Contacted via WhatsApp (numbers on here somewhere too). I was replied to within an hour with all the information required. Next thing you know I’ve booked a lesson.... very easy! We met Budi (our instructor) down at Padang Padang beach. He was very Friendly and spoke good English which always helps. The school lent us rash vests which we didn’t have. The lesson was really good! I learnt lots and Budi was very easy to get a long with. One bit of advice I’d offer to anyone trying this for the first time is to wear plenty of Sunblock on any part of your body that is exposed. We were out in the sea for nearly 2 hours and my calves got burnt! I can’t blame the surf school for that though ha ha.

Review Body: The location is amazing and really easy to find and there is parking directly across the road from the beach entry (parking and beach entry both needs to be paid for but are both super cheap). Our instructor Budi was great! After giving us rash vests he explained everything to us, showed us what to do(we also practiced), all the safety involved (where to be and where not to be in the water) and then it was straight out into the water. We were both up and standing quickly and enjoyed being out. Strong suncream is a must, especially on the back of the legs! Definitely a must do if in Uluwatu! P.s there are a few stalls at the beach to buy food and drinks so bring some cash for them.

Review Body: The booking was easy via whatsapp. The basics of the surfing and the beach was short and efficient before heading for waves. Our instructor was super proficient and giving feedback on how to improve after every wave. I surfed alone few times after and saw other surfschools and I have to say Olas had the best attitude as far as what I've saw. They have a clear way of rotating people, they show you the calm waiting area so you don't have to wait for your turn in the middle of the waves. The other schools I've saw was keeping people waiting the waves splashing on them which can be exhausting. I was able to catch waves on my own after just one lesson. Would recommend.

Review Body: We had a great 3-day surfcourse, with one of the teachers named Yanto. The first day trying to stand up on the board was such a nice experience, because the instructer explained everything before we got in the water and helped us, pushing us into the waves untill we got the hang of it. First two days at padang padang beach were great, the third day at nusa dua also. Yanto would help us get good waves and coaching us all the way. Communication with this surfschool is so easy, we contacted them with fb messenger and imediately got a reply. They organised a cartrip for us on the last day. I definately recommend this surfschool!

Review Body: Olas de Bali Surf School is an excellent way to experience surfing if for the first time novice or if you need a refresher. We had Budi as our instructor, he and Tino run the school and Budi had us in the water within 10 minutes with a quick run through of basic principals. No messing around with these guys. They throw you in the drink so you get to actually do, not just talking about it through tedious inductions!! We had two hours in the water. Great beach in Uluwatu, perfect for learning. Budi was wonderful. Had we had more time, we would have returned the next day for more. Just “Do It”. Top marks.

My wife’s first attempt at surfing and coach Budi did a great job introducing her to surfing. I surfed with John everyday this time round and he called me into some gems. Thank you so much. Over time, these guys become friends and they are really really good, sincere people. Very happy for Tino who runs the business. Every single 5-star review is well deserved. Highly recommend anyone, first timer or experienced surfer who would like surf coaching and guiding.

Review Body: My girlfriend and I are beginner surfers. Our instructor Deden was great. He was so calm and cool, even though the conditions were a little big for us. My girlfriend ended up next to some rocks (exactly where we were told not to go) and Deden sped over to her and got her out of trouble. There were some locals taking great photos of everybody. We didn't have money on us to purchase the photos but 2 days later Tino (the owner, I think) emailed us the pictures free of charge. Great experience, and highly recommended.

Review Body: Had such a great time surfing with Tino and Co! Super reasonable prices for 2 hour sessions including all your Kit hire (and sunscreen!). I was a bit nervous I would look silly on the water as a beginner but Tino was great! He was so encouraging and fun to learn with, always with a smile. The guys are a great laugh and very easy to contact and arrange sessions with via WhatsApp. I did two lessons and definitely felt like I progressed - I have always wanted to try surfing and am so glad I have taken the first step!

Review Body: Glad I chose these guys. Was recommended by a fellow backpacker. One of Tino’s guys, Dede, took me to Olu, navigated me to the best points and really explained the ins and outs of this world class reef break. They help position you in the best spots which helps because the point break is super crowded. Sometimes they give you a little push into the wave which felt like cheating if you’re an intermediate surfer, but was really helpful and now I feel more confident going out on my own knowing the landscape better.

Review Body: Looked through multiple surf schools in the area, and there’s a reason this one has great reviews. It was extremely to organise on WhatsApp and managed to get a private 2 hour lesson for the next day. Private lesson was definitely worth the little extra money. Budi stayed right next to me for the entire 2 hours, giving constant tips and advice. It was really fun and basically I spent the whole time catching waves, by the end I had a few very good goes. Can’t recommend them enough!

He showed us the theory and we liked that we could start the practice right away and learn while catching our first waves. With every try he gave us advice how to do it better or right and on the first day we already stood up on the board.
