Hike into the soul of the jungle with a local expert guide!
If you’re looking for a jungle trek that’s more than just a walk, this experience offers a deeper, more meaningful way to explore Khao Sok National Park. The trek was designed by Jaja, a lifelong Khao Sok local with nearly 15 years of experience in the jungle. Growing up in these forests, Jaja learned how to read the rainforest—understanding wildlife behaviour, recognising useful plants, and navigating terrain that most visitors never notice. Over the years, he became known for his thoughtful, eco-conscious approach to jungle guiding.Today, Jaja focuses on building a strong local guiding team so this experience can be shared responsibly and sustainably. Rather than guiding every trip himself, he personally trains and mentors his guides, passing on his knowledge, safety standards, and respect for the forest. What this means for you:Your trek is led by a guide who has been carefully trained by Jaja, follows a proven route, and is fully focused on your group—while the experience remains true to Jaja’s vision. It also means better availability, consistent quality, and direct support for local livelihoods. You’ll hike deep into Khao Sok National Park, following forest trails, crossing streams, and navigating uneven terrain to reach hidden waterfalls such as Bang Hua Rat and Bang Liab Nam. Along the way, your guide will help you spot wildlife, explain how jungle plants are used for food and medicine, and share insights into the rainforest’s ecosystem. This trek is ideal for travellers who want an immersive, educational jungle experience—without crowds or rushed schedules. By joining, you’re also supporting Jaja’s mission to create sustainable income for the local community while protecting the forest. What to ExpectGuided jungle trek through Khao Sok National Park with a local expert who knows every inch of the forest trained by JajaLearn survival skills, including how to use jungle plants for food, medicine, and shelter.Visit hidden waterfalls like Bang Hua Rat and Bang Liab Nam, perfect for a refreshing swim.Spot wildlife along the way, from gibbons to exotic birds and unique jungle insects.Enjoy a traditional Thai lunch in a beautiful jungle setting. For an even more immersive experience, upgrade to a full day adventure with bamboo campfire dinner and night safari.Good to KnowIncludes free pick-up from hotels within 10km of Khao Sok Village.A national park entrance fee of 200 THB per person is not included (prices may be subject to change).Expect some steep trails, river crossings, and light climbing—basic fitness is required.Wear comfortable trekking shoes and bring swimwear if you want to take a dip in the waterfalls. You will lose phone signal completely once you enter the deep forest. Meet your host
Jaja was born and raised in Khao Sok, where the jungle was his childhood playground. Taught by his father from a young age, he learned how to navigate, survive, and understand the land. As he got older, he took an interest in learning English, working as a waiter to practice with travelers. Eventually, he realized his knowledge of the jungle could be put to better use—guiding visitors through the national park instead of hunting. Now, with nearly two decades of experience, Jaja not only leads unforgettable jungle adventures but also mentors new guides, helping former hunters find a new path. Dedicated to his hometown, he’s working to create more opportunities in eco-tourism while protecting the beauty of Khao Sok.
