Review Body: We loved this cruise, we'd gladly do it again if we had the time. We were picked up for a drive through beautiful countryside and reached the fishing village to board a traditional boat. We had a picnic on the rooftop of the boat with stunning views of the sunset, all the islands and even a rainbow in the background. As the bats started swarming out, the captain moved us closer to the island for better views. The place is full of vessels lined up, but we stayed out of the crowd and we didn't have to join the traffic as our return point was the fishing village and not the port of Labuan Bajo. As we made our way back, bats were flying low next to our boat and we could see them very closely :-) our return was calm and relaxed under the stars. The tour is not touristy and well organised, and the guide was friendly and kind. Even if you can watch the bats from a liveaboard, it's still worth going on this cruise. It's something else!

Review Body: A really lovely traditional boat experience! The sunset was amazing and the bats didn't disappoint either. They make you very comfortable sitting on top of the boat with a mat and cushions and it is interesting to see the village. The driver who collected us was prompt and courteous. The only thing we would have preferred to be different is that another boat came and tethered onto our boat, which spoilt the peace and tranquility a little, however I would still do the trip even knowing this now.

Review Body: Gorgeous sunset views and we got to see the bats too! Our guide was very insightful throughout the trip and we go to sit on a smaller yet more intimate top of a boat to see it all! Big kudos also to the guys navigating the boat, everything went very smooth and we were near the mangroves while waiting for the bats to start flying. Highly recommend this experience as a perfect end to your trip!

Review Body: Amazing experience! The contact with the provider was excellent throughout, and they answered all of my questions promptly and kindly. The driver that picked us up from our hotel was on time and the drive was smooth. The boat was comfortable and we set off in time to watch the sunset before the bats started flying. It was a beautiful spectacle and I would definitely recommend it.

Review Body: My two friends Eveliina, Sirpa and I had such a wonderful experience, with just being the 3 of us, sitting on the roof of this boat. It was cosy and very relaxing. We didn’t bring drinks og snacks for the tour, but we could easily have done that. We absolutely enjoyed every minute not knowing exactly what we were about to see in the sky. And it was just amazing 🤩

Review Body: An amazing experience!! A chance to see the sunset before moving slightly further in and seeing the bats. Our drivers managed to get us front row seats for most of it! They were both lovely & kind. One thing to note is the port you leave from is around 40/45 mins drive from the main area. Not a problem at all, but just an fyi if you have timing considerations.

Review Body: This felt like a very authentic experience. The fishing village where we left from was just a local working village. The boat that took us to see the bats was a local fishing vessel. It was wonderful to sit on the roof of the boat and see this nightly natural phenomenon. It was also a good place to view the night sky and the stars as we slowly motored back.

Review Body: Such a special trip!! Guide picked us up from our hotel and drove us to a fishing village approx 30 mins from Labuan Bajo. From here we climbed aboard a traditional fishing boat (note that you need to wade to the boat) and travelled approx 15/20 mins before parking up and watching the bats. Just such an amazing experience - we loved it!! Thank you!

Review Body: A great trip to see the flying foxes. The sight at sunset was awe inspring. Great pick-up and drop off service. Local boat with a guide to the flying foxes. I shall remember it as long as I live. One tip - you may have to wade out to the boat - so wear shorts and waterproof sandals…

Review Body: We really enjoyed the experience despite the rain showers and no sunset! The bats come anyway and the rain had stopped just in time for us to lie on the roof and watch them stream by. The method for boarding the boat was a little surprising but added to the adventure.

Review Body: It was an amazing experience watching all the bats take flight from the roof of the boat as the sun set, something we will not forget. See thousands of bats fly out at sunset, all on your own private boat!
We've been to Komodo at least 20 times, and watching thousands of bats take flight at sunset is still one of our favourite (and most magical!) moments in Komodo National Park. We like to call it a bat exodus - wave after wave of fruit bats flying into the sunset sky as they leave their nest to find food. It goes on for 20-30 minutes!This is a great add-on if you’re only doing a one-day speedboat trip to Komodo National Park. Those trips usually return to the harbour before 6pm, so you’ll miss the sunset completely. If you still want to catch this sunset + bats moment, we’d recommend doing this private boat charter on the evening after your speedboat day trip. If you've already booked an overnight liveaboard, your itinerary will usually include a trip to Kalong Island, so you won't need to book this separately.It’s also super authentic: you’ll head to a local fishing village to hop on a traditional fishing boat and sail out.
