See beautiful RInjani foothills in a meaningful way
If you love the outdoors and want to do something meaningful in Rinjani, this half-day trek is perfect. This easy trek takes you through Rinjani’s gentler foothills, past rice paddies, traditional villages and farmland, with time to stop at Sindang Gila Waterfall and enjoy a packed lunch along the way. It’s a lovely way to experience the landscapes around Rinjani without the long, demanding summit climb.What makes this trek especially meaningful is the team behind it. Your host Katni was the first woman to guide on Rinjani, at a time when women leading hikes was considered taboo in Lombok’s deeply patriarchal society. She went on to start her own guiding company (still the only female-owned guiding business on Rinjani!) and began hiring other women as guides. Meet your host

Katni is a force of nature. She is the very first woman guide in Rinjani. When she first started guiding in Rinjani, it was taboo for women to lead hikes in the deeply patriarchal society of Lombok. So she started her own guiding business (still the only female-owned business in Rinjani!), and hired women as guides. Through her work, she's singlehandedly shattered taboos in Rinjani, changed mindsets of men and women in Lombok, and have given women opportunities to earn an income.
