If you want a dinner in Singapore that feels more personal than a standard restaurant booking, this private tapas night inside a restored Joo Chiat shophouse is a strong pick. It is best for groups of 4 or more who want a cosy, character-filled setting and Mediterranean small plates with a twist. Think Spanish-style tapas layered with North African and Middle Eastern flavours, not the usual bar bites menu.
You’ll share at least 5 tapas, which may include dips, flatbread, croquettes and BBQ dishes, with a glass of Tinto Verano included. The setting is a big part of the experience too. You can dine in the relaxed open-plan first floor, or on good-weather evenings head up to a rooftop corner styled like a small Moroccan lounge with floor seating.

As long-time residents, they’ve contributed to and witnessed the evolution of one of Singapore’s coolest districts. Their first experience launched in 2021 — a private dining concept inspired by Al’s Mediterranean culinary heritage and set in their beautifully renovated Peranakan shophouse.
