Greenbike’s bike tour in Ubud is a 5+ hr tour which included breakfast, lunch and a sampling of local treats. Unexpectedly, it also included transfers from our hotel which was extraordinary value (and very convenient). The tour explores Balinese culture and community through a scenic bike ride on quiet country roads and off the beaten track. We visited a traditional Balinese home, sampled Indonesia’s famed luwak coffee, stopped by Bali’s second largest temple and finished the tour at the rice fields. It was a meandering 22 km round trip, best of all mostly downhill. Our guides ensured our road safety and remained vigilant throughout. Riding the backroads roads and narrow trails, known only to locals was a highlight. As an occasional recreational rider only, I especially enjoyed the trickier trail parts that were unpaved, rocky, puddle-ridden. Tips: As we travelled to/from Ubud from Nusa, we experienced Bali’s snarled traffic. It made for a long day but it was worthwhile. While the torrential rain in Nusa didn’t instill confidence initially, it eventually subsided. We appreciated the overcast, cooler day. Trust the experts at Greenbike to gauge the contingency plan. A special thanks to our guides Amin and Ketut for sharing their insights, and to Rina at Seek Sophie who responded quickly and efficiently to my questions beforehand.

Really fun tour that is off the beaten track, and friendly tour guide. 10/10 will recommend!

This was such an amazing trip! Experiencing the jungle with a bike was so special! And we also visited a local home where we learned a lot about Balinese culture and traditions, which was also really wonderful. The food was also great! All in all an unforgettable experience!
