3D2N Malayan Tiger Trek with Conservationist

Trek for tigers, track wildlife & restore forests with local conservationists

An amazing adventure! My trek led by Alex and Adi, a member of the Bateq tribe, in March 2026 was a unique experience. Learning how tigers are endangered by poachers and the protection work MyCC does, including taking volunteers out to trek in the forest, was only capped by actually seeing a tiger on a camera trap walking the very route we were on! It’s great to know that as a volunteer walker I have helped support that protection work.

You knew from the presentation on the first evening that you were in the hands of people who knew what they were talking about – people committed to protecting this very important part of the rainforest. The trek on our second day confirmed how knowledgeable they are – all very inspiring. The trip ended with meeting some of the local Bateq men who are part of the forest restoration team and helping them to plant some of the saplings grown in MyCC’s own nursery. A really worthwhile and enjoyable experience.

For me, the experience was unforgettable. Seeing signs of wildlife with my own eyes, learning from the guides and rangers, and being immersed in a forest so different from the world I know at home made the importance of protecting these places feel all the more real. I also really appreciated learning from the people who dedicate their time and knowledge to this work, and understanding how our presence as volunteers from all walks of life can contribute significantly to practical conservation efforts.

I would genuinely recommend this experience to anyone who wants to learn more about wildlife conservation and find meaningful ways to get involved. Sometimes, the things we care about can feel so far away from us, but experiences like this remind us that there are ways we can help.
