What a fabulous way to see the highlights of Khao Sok NP both on land and water!
Yes we could have figured it out and booked ourselves but we left last minute and to have the accommodation arranged for us and benefit from the insights and local knowledge was actually invaluable. Our guide, MM, was so courteous and pleasant notwithstanding his English allowed for great engagement.

I spent one night at Praiwan Raft House with my mother, and words hardly do justice to how magical this experience was. Dreamlike, exotic, and straight out of an adventure movie — that’s the best way I can describe it.
The boat journey alone was unforgettable, offering landscapes unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my life. When we finally arrived, Praiwan Raft House revealed itself as a small floating village, perfectly integrated into its natural surroundings.
The atmosphere was incredibly warm and friendly, largely thanks to the amazing staff. Special mention goes to the guides: not only are they a true well of knowledge about the local flora and fauna, but they’re also great people to chat with about everyday life, which made the experience even more human and authentic.
The night was peaceful and soothing, gently rocked by the movement of the lake and accompanied by birdsong. As if that wasn’t enough, we were lucky enough to spot a family of wild elephants while kayaking — a moment I will never forget.
If I had to keep only one memory from my trip to Thailand, this stay would be it. Praiwan Raft House is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and something everyone should do at least once.
A Once-in-a-Lifetime Adventure on the Water
The first night, I have to say was the one of the best experience, when it comes to cooking class, the involvement, the smelling and tasting was all superb. What made it a real unique experience, was the host “yoo”. He is entertaining as well as professional. Second night also very beautiful only drawback was the mattress which was pretty fully orthopidic, but overall I definitely would recommend to anyone.

Mr. Yoo was incredibly welcoming (and hilarious). I traveled solo and enjoyed cooking food amongst new friends. We learned to cook Thai food authentically. My hut was quiet, clean and relaxing. This will be an experience I will always cherish!

We loved our trip with guide Alex! He’s very friendly, helpful, gives a lot of information about the animals and lake. The nature was… wow! Must visite and it was very private 🙏🏻.

Overall, it was a good experience for us. We were able to see elephants and various wildlife, which is always appreciated on this type of tour. The place is impressive. We booked a simple room without a private bathroom and, honestly, all the facilities were clean and we were very comfortable.
The food was basic, but that is what we expected for this kind of activity. One criticism would be that in all meals the main staple was rice, which could be more varied. Another criticism is that the breakfast bread left a lot to be desired.
The staff were very friendly with us and very kind. The guide spoke English and at all times knew how to clearly explain what we had to do.
Two constructive criticisms to improve the activity would be: upon arrival, it would have been helpful to indicate on a board all the activities planned for that day and the following one, as well as the hours during which there would be electricity in the cabins. We also do not understand why we are asked to be at the pier at 11:30 if the boat does not leave until 12:30. It would be better if it could start earlier so that the excursion does not have to be rushed later, or alternatively, that we are asked to stay at the pier later.
Finally, although the cabins were clean, there were quite a few small details. We understand that this is a natural environment, but there were some cobwebs that could be improved with a bit more cleaning. In addition, the cabin is open and not fully enclosed, so if you turn on the light at night, you obviously risk having many mosquitoes inside. A mosquito net would be necessary to be able to rest peacefully. We did not turn on the light at night and did not have mosquitoes, but we understand that if we had done so, the night would have been less comfortable than it actually was.

Absolutely amazing experience, everyone was so helpful with pick ups and drop offs even when our times were changed. As well as when we were at the bungalows. The trip itself was so well organised safaris and hikes and meals were lovely. The bungalows themselves were so comfortable, opening your door and window to the views and elephants was a surreal experience. Thank you so much to everyone at praiwan rafthouse!
