We were delighted to pick Praiwan. It’s further away from the pier than lots of the other floating lodges but this is its jewel. No passing traffic and elephants came down to the water. The food was lovely and abundant and the staff charming.
The boat ride in was an experience as each and every breathtaking view was exposed. Our room was very comfortable with an en suite which we were glad for. We swam and kayaked in the bay too.
We as a family agreed this was the highlight of our trip.

Cooking lesson was fantastic and the host is entertaining and super friendly. Night at the farmstay was great too, quiet and the morning scenery was stunning.
Khao Sok was stunning too, the boat rides have stunning scenery with the occasional wildlife. The lake is peaceful and pretty.

A Truly Unforgettable Experience at Khao Sok – Floating Bungalows & Exceptional Service!
We’ve just returned from a private two-day excursion through Khao Sok National Park, and it was truly one of the most magical and memorable experiences we’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was seamlessly arranged and exceeded our expectations in every possible way.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the floating bungalows—an absolute dream. Waking up to the peaceful stillness of the lake, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and lush jungle, felt like something out of a movie. The accommodations were comfortable and clean, and the experience of literally staying on the water is something we will never forget.
What made the trip even more incredible was the level of care, service, and hospitality we received. The staff were constantly attentive, bringing a huge variety of delicious foods and buffets to us. We were honestly blown away by the quality and quantity—every meal felt like a feast!
A very special mention must go to our driver and our wonderful guide, Kob. Kob was an absolute star—so friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about the park and its wildlife. Her English was fantastic, and she went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and looked after. She took so many beautiful photos for us throughout the trip, capturing moments we’ll treasure forever. Both she and our driver made us feel completely relaxed and in safe hands from the moment we were picked up.
It’s rare to find an experience where every detail is so thoughtfully executed, and it’s clear the team behind this truly cares about their guests. If you are considering a trip to Khao Sok, this is the way to do it—you will be treated like family and come away with memories that will last a lifetime.
Huge thank you to everyone involved—especially Kob—for making this so special. We’re incredibly grateful and cannot recommend it enough!

We loved our stay at Khao Sok Riverside Cottages. The staff was very friendly, the food was fresh and delicious, and the rooms were clean. We went river tubing the day we arrived with Nook, who we shared conversation with as we floated down the river. We saw otters, monkeys, and snakes from the river. The staff was aware of our lake trip and wrote out a timeline for us for all of our upcoming activities. They also arranged reasonably priced private transfers to and from the cottages and Phuket for us. This place is so serene, relaxing, and beautiful. Definitely a highlight of our travels in Thailand so far!

After a 40-minute trip by longtail boat, we arrived at the beautiful Praiwan Raft House, located in a dead-end bay near the wildlife sanctuary. We stayed in a basic hut room with a wonderful bed, the bathroom and toilet were shared. Upon arrival, we were served a warm lunch, and afterwards, we took the boat for a whole 2 minutes toward the sanctuary.
Once there, we hiked for about 30 minutes to reach the bamboo raft that took us to the Coral Cave. Each of us received a flashlight, and we explored the dead-end cave. We saw beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, as well as a few bats. After the visit, we made our way back the same route over water and land to our raft house.
Before dinner, we had about 2 hours of free time. We took the kayak and were lucky enough to encounter a family of five elephants… all to ourselves. A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!!!
After dinner, everyone lingered at the small restaurant and we played some games. The night started off a bit rough as a storm suddenly passed over our bay. It was all hands on deck for the staff, but the guests hardly noticed anything apart from the choppy water.
At 6:30 in the morning, we went on a one-hour boat safari to spot wildlife. Unfortunately, we didn’t see much apart from two hornbills, a monitor lizard, and a few birds of prey. After that, we had breakfast, and it was slowly time to pack up and head back to the pier.
