Review Body: I would have rated it a five because the driver we had on the island was FANTASTIC. The reason I didn’t rate as a Five star is frankly the people who took us out on a boat were not friendly nor knowledgeable about the snorkeling. But like I said the driver we had and I wish I could spell his name was so kind and helpful. The best part of the trip was snorkeling at the beach club near the port. Also, the owner Mr Wayan was also very very kind as were the two drivers he lined up for us on the mainland.

Review Body: Wow! What an experience... Probably THE highlight of my Balinese solo trip. So ok, the ascension to the summit is crowded. But we're all in the dark right, so it's not lime you'll notice it that much ;) Suitable for not typically athletic individuals as well as hikers, the trek lasts about two hours to the peak, where you will then be able to buy some hot coffee, chocolate and/or tea. Your "guide" (ours, though very nice, was unfortunately not helpful at all explanatory-wise, as he did not really speak English...) will also serve you a plate of banana sandwiches and boiled eggs as you patiently wait for the sun to rise. And what a truly magical, breathtaking scenery will happen before your tired yet amazed eyes! Our trek took place on a very cloudy day, yet if you book a private tour -which I highly recommend to be more independent-, patiently wait half an hour more or so for the view toclear, and you will then be amazed even more. My group and I then took awalk around the crater, which was the most incredible, gorgeous, almost too-beautiful-too-be-described view we ever witnessed. And I live in Switzerland, so believe me when I say this mountain/volcano view is really worthwhile! You will be able to see the lava traces down in the valley, which were left by the multiple eruptions that happened in the last decades. Lake Batur can also be seen from the crater, as well as Mt Agung and the whole Nusa Penida-Lembongan Bay... A-ma-zing is all I have to say... Plus, you can ask to bake bananas inside the hotnsprings of the volcano, another great memory to make while on Mt Batur. Just make sure to book a good company when you plan your hike, as we were very disappointed regarding ours. We had asked for a private, early hike with an experienced English-speaking guide. None of our requests were met.

Review Body: I cannot express my gratitude enough for Budi’s excellent customer service and A* service from start to finish. I was looking for a Nusa Penida tour guide for a solo trip (until I luckily found a friend to join) and so wanted a really safe and reliable company and guide. I contacted a few companies, some of which were too pushy, expensive and slow to reply. Budi was none of those things. He works almost 24/7 to ensure his customers receive nothing but the best service and feel well looked after. His English is excellent, he has a fantastic sense of humour, is so kind and goes out of his way. He offered to join us on our trip and really took such great care of us. He replies to messages promptly and was so patient with all my back and forth questions. His team of drivers were fantastic and the tour covered was brilliant - although warning - roads on Penida are really bad and you will feel rattled after driving around all day but Budi and his driver made it fun and safe for us. I will 100% use him again for taxi services around Bali and the Batur trek. His reviews are amazing and i completely agree with everyone else. I even recommended him to my accommodation and they will be using him for guests going forward as he is just fabulous! As a solo traveler you’d also feel super safe and in good hands. Well done Budi for creating a 10/10 company,you deserve all the success and I hope to see you again next year!

Review Body: We absolutely loved our experience and I have to say it was completely down to this company. We had read reviews about it being crowded and ruining the experience however our guide seemed to know all the secrets to the best way to trek and we barely saw anyone on the way up. He also took us to a different ridge which had exactly the same view but had about ten people at the top rather then 400! We did trek across to the other view point on the way down and he view was no different except there was 100's of noisy people and no where to move. Had we gone here I think our experience would have been ruined. The first part getting down was busy and slippery but again our guide quickly took us an alternate route which was stunning and a lot quieter. Another huge advantage of this company is that we were given headlamps and walking sticks. This meant the walk felt a lot sturdier. whilst we saw people slipping everywhere and really struggling, using their hands and trying to carry torches, we had ours strapped to our head and used our sticks to stop us slipping. Several people commented on how they wished they had the sticks and we seemed to be the only ones with them (and the only ones not struggling!). There are many companies out there but pick this one and it could honestly be the difference between an amazing experience and 4 hours of crowded slippery misery!

Review Body: This was a great experience. Our guides were helpful, friendly and looked after us the whole time. I am a 50 year old, ex smoker, who gyms it 5 times a week - and I struggled at the top end. My husband and I only made it 80% - we got above the clouds and totally experienced the sunrise and views (stunning). However, we both were unable to continue the steep climb to make it to the summit (our younger and fitter family members did keep going!). I would suggest taking light snack / food / fruit juice / sugar / gum with you. I know at 1 am we did not think to eat, however the higher altitude and early rising make exertion more difficult. I was also surprised at amount of other people / groups also attending (although it cannot always be about me!). Overall it was an experience I am very glad I had, got great photos - and the hot springs at the end was well worth.

Review Body: We got picked up on time, brought to camp site for a briefing and light breakfast. We were provided headlamps, walking sticks, water bottles and set out immediately after. The guide (Gede) was very attentive, helping each one of us when necessary. We stopped for a break when it got too challenging because of the elevation. He was very patient and made sure that all our needs were met. We got to the top just before sunrise and it was breathtakingly beautiful. Had a light breakfast at the summit, took photos and made our way back for the hot springs (which felt so good after the strenuous hike). The buffet breakfast was nice too. Headed to the coffee plantation and rice terraces after. All in all, a great tour. Definitely tiring but it was worth it.

Review Body: I really enjoyed our Batur trekking. We had a brand new air conditioned car. The company organised everything very professional way. We really enjoyed the time with our driver Wayne. He was always there to help or answer our questions. We had the required equimpent, water, light breakfast and hot coffee on the top of the volcano - very useful when is like 10 degrees up there. The guide was very friendly and helpful. The hot spring is just a perfect place to stay after that much of walking. You have a shower and fresh towel and your own locker. The water was just perfectly clean. Later on we went to eat a lunch (as a buffet) and straight after that coffee plantation.

Review Body: If I could give them a higher rating I would!!!! This was the most amazing day. Wayan our driver was friendly and pointed out lots of interesting attractions on our drive. Our guide putu was also great. He took us to some amazing spots. What was great about this tour was the little things like putu pulling fruit of trees for us to eat from coconuts to lemon grass we saw, smelt and ate everything. He was also an excellent photographer snapping photos of us the whole way. Thank you batur trekking, wayan and putu for the most amazing adventure ever!!

Review Body: We booked a private tour on their homepage in the late afternoon the day before - we got our confirmation within minutes! The details (pick up time, insurance, payment, ...) were clarified via WhatsApp - so things are very easy! We had a problem to get the money in cash but it was also possible to pay via PayPal! The trip itself was amazing and everything was perfect - it was one of the best things we did on our journey through bali!! We were lucky to get good weather -> perfect sunrise!! Review Body: We were picked up punctually outside our villa at 1.30am. The driver was cheery and pleasant right from the get-go, and the ride was smooth. After reaching the start point, we were issued water, walking sticks and headlights, all of which were in good condition. Our hiking guide was very friendly, dedicated and professional; he brought us up at a good pace, maintained an interesting conversation and never failed to lighten the mood even though it got tiring at some points. Would definitely recommend.

Review Body: We got picked up by our driver at 1.00am as we were staying in Jimbaran, we got up to the volcano about 3.00am ish. We set off with our guide, they say on the website that its a private tour and no one else will be included in your group and they were correct it was just my partner and I and the tour guide which I thought was great as you can go at your own pace. The sunrise, well it speaks for itself! But I highly recommend going with this company for your trek up the very steep volcano!

The trip was very private. Only we both! Which I like a lot. Hence the tempo of hiking can be individual chosen. I really advice to book this tour. Also the booking was super easy. Review Body: I climbed the mountain with my sister and we shared a guide. He was very good at adjusting pace to suit us and very accommodating when we got to the top as we arrived 2 hours before sunrise, so he made us coffee with biscuits and sandwiches before having baked eggs from the volcano's steam. He also took amazing photos of us which were a huge bonus and we are so happy to have them looking back.

Review Body: Amazing experience, one of those things that we can only do once or twice in a lifetime. Incredible feeling when we get at the top and the sun starts to rise, beautiful view and surprising feeling between cold (due to the altitud of the mountain) and hot due to the steam from the volcano. I recommend it to all travelers to Bali. Just be careful as the climbing is quite physical and intensive.

Itinerary Day 1

Itinerary Summary: Snorkel for 30 mins in 3 different locations and explore West Nusa Penida

Itinerary Description: 7:30am: Arrive to Sanur Port for check in 8:00am: Departure to Nusa Penida via fast boat 8:45am: Arrive to Nusa Penida 9:00am: Start Snorkelling trip with Public Boat Crystal Bay - the water here is super clear and fairly shallow making it a great spot for beginners. Here you will have a good chance to spot turtles and even an occasional Mola Mola a.k.a. Sun Fish. Manta Point - true to its name, this is the best place to spot Manta Rays. These large majestic creatures love to dance in the current. It's a truly epic sight if you get to see even one! Best season to see Mantas in this region is August - October, but it's possible outside of it as well. Because Mantas love current, the water speed here is quite rapid. If you are not a very confident swimmer you may want to wear a life jacket. Gamat Beach (weather dependent) - this is clear water spot is known for vibrant coral reefs and colourful schools of fish. Turtles are also known to hang out here. Because it's difficult to reach this spot by land, the ocean life here is quite well preserved. 12:00pm: Lunch 1:00pm: Overland tour of Nusa Penida Kelingking (T-Rex) - this is an iconic view of a limestone rock formation that looks like the head of a T-rex dinosaur. In addition to this curiously shaped island, you will also get a bird's eye view of a beautiful strip of beach being washed by gorgeous blue green waters. To get to the actual beach requires climbing down a very long set of stairs, which can take 20-30 minutes one way depending on your fitness level. You should seek advice from your guide on whether you are able to get to the beach and back in time to make it to the other locations. Broken Beach - this epic rock encircled cove with an archway, opening up to the sea is more than it's pretty looks. When you've had enough photos of the blue waters trickling in through the archway, head to the other side. As you stand at the cliff's edge looking over the deep blue waters, you may be able to catch a glimpse of the peacefully beautiful manta rays dancing in the current. A surreal image! Angel Billabong - is a gorgeous rock pool, which gets replenished with the waters from the surrounding sea. This is a rather tempting place to take a dip and get your Insta fix, but we highly recommend not getting in the water as the tide and waves can move very quickly and unexpectedly. Enjoy the view from the top! 4:00pm: Arrive back to port in Nusa Penida and board fast boat 5:00-5:30pm: Return to Bali
