Review Body: This was a small company trip for 8 of us. We started the tour at Mt Batur with Sari and Don. They are amazing and professional guides that speak good English! They really showed us a route with fewer tourists and took care of us like their babies. We were impressed that they packed extra weight in their backpacks for us (ie. Bananas, chocolates, extra torch lights, bottles of mineral water), and their stash came in pretty handy. Here are some of the most memorable highlights during the trip: 1. 1 of us was wearing slippers as he lost his shoes a day before the hike. Sari and Don loan him a pair of shoes from a nearby village that matches the size of his feet. 🤯 2. It was extremely extremely extremely cold, and it was our fault for not reading the description on Seek Sophie's website that we're supposed to wear jackets and long pants. All of us wore dry-fit T-shirts and shorts. We were basically freezing, and it was so cold that mist was coming out of our mouths. Sari and Don kept reassuring us that as we hiked, we'll feel warmer. Their words of encouragement helps and were truthful. We reached Mt Batur at around 3 am, and within 10 to 20 minutes of hiking, warmth kicked in, and we no longer felt cold. 3. 2 of our unfit teammates weren't feeling well. 1 had pulled her muscles and had to keep resting. Don went to search for a tree, broke a branch to make a hiking stick for her and even ensured that the stick matched her height. The other teammate vomited and felt nauseous; Don kept taking care of her, gave her chocolate bars, and ensured us that it was free and not to worry. (ie. they weren't those guides that will scam you and charge extra money) They allowed us to rest as long as we needed instead of forcing and pushing us to catch the sunrise, which we greatly appreciate. 4. It's not a big deal to most people for this point - We like the fact whereby Sari and Don will say, "1 more minute to reach the next resting point." And it was actually less than 30 seconds when we reached the resting point. It makes us feel encouraged, and her words can be trusted. 5. Sari was extremely humourous, honest and a pretty Balinese. She informed us that we were not able to reach the top to catch the sunrise, but she will bring us to a secluded place with zero to no tourists, and we could rest there to watch the sunrise + have our breakfast there. The view was like out of a fairytale! There were only 2 other tourists and the rest of us. We were able to see the sun rising gracefully while Sari personally cooked us breakfast at that shop to serve us 😂 6. Sari has excellent photography skills. She took amazing photos for our team and has loads of creative ideas for fun shots. 7. Climbing down mt batur was the scariest part. Sari showed us a way to effectively hike down fast, and that is to run. I know it's scary, for fear of danger was shouting in our minds, but we trusted her. She held one of our teammates' hands and sped down. Soon afterwards, each one of us tried and had the courage to follow her instructions. I won't recommend old folks to run, but for young people that want to fill their bodies with adrenaline, hold Sari's hands and try it for yourself! We highly recommend Sari and Don for your Mt Batur hiking experience! For the rest of the trip, the hot spring and buffet were alright. Perhaps we were too tired and didn't even visit the coffee farm. So, we shall not leave further comments on the remaining part of the trip. Fun fact - Sari used to have an insta account of 50k followers until her account got hacked. This just shows how popular she is as a guide. We left her insta account here because it's a good initiative that Seek Sophie promotes tourists to support locals. Sari and Don are hardworking guides that deserve to be recognised. Using Seek Sophie platform was also easy and straightforward. Their support team addresses all my concerns fast and was friendly. Because year-end is commonly a rainy season, Seek Sophie's team also assured us that cancellations could be made 3 days prior or postponed till next year. Do check with them on the latest updates for their postponing policies, I'm sure their efficient team will be able to take care of your worries.

Review Body: Wow! Wow! WOW! I'm so glad I took this trip. As I was travelling solo and booked late, it was just me on the tour, but that made it all the more special and fully personalized. Intan, the driver, communicated the night before to arrange the 2:15 a.m. (yes, really!) pick up time from my hotel in Ubud, and she arrived promptly. We had a great time chatting in the vehicle as she carefully navigated dark roads and stray dogs, letting me ask her a litany of questions and, in turn, sharing her curiosity about my country. I really enjoyed the ride both ways simply spending time with her. At the start of the volcano, I was then introduced to my guide, Wira. Like Alit, he was super attentive, helping me ensure my headlamp was well-positioned, getting me a walking stick (seriously helps as you're walking up in the dark and saves your knees a bit on the way down), and always making sure I was doing fine. Although he was wayyy younger than me, he always checked that the pace was fine and suggested water breaks at the benches/huts as we encountered them. It was lovely just slogging uphill (as hard as it was) in good company and learning about Mt. Batur, and the region's agriculatural area, which he's from. That helped distract a bit from the challenge--which is WORTH IT if you can manage. When we summitted, after high-fiving, Wira quickly got me some hot coffee and breakfast, which I devoured the sun slowly creeped up in the darkness while other hikers milled about doing the same. Then we continued in daylight along the spine of Mt. Batur, to absolutely spellbinding panoramas of the crater, the lake, the steam vents, neighbouring mountains... It really took my breath away. Wira snapped lots of photos of me (and he's a great photog), so I have some awesome memories of tackling this hike "solo"--with my guide and new friend. I can't say enough about both these young locals who made this experience one for my record books.

Review Body: An all around amazing experience! Drivers and guides were very professional and also attentive/responsive to your needs. Thank you to Arjana and Kadek who made this the highlight of our stay here in Bali. We did: Mt Batur Sunrise Hike with Coffee Plantation, Hot Springs and Rice Fields Details of the day: We were staying in Ubud and at 2:15 am our driver Arjana came to pick us up. Car ride was as smooth as he could have driven on the narrow and winding roads up to Mt. Batur. There we met our guide for the hike, Kadek. Water and headlamps and a walking stick for climbing was provided here. The hike itself was slightly more steep than expected. However a wonderful experience to walk under the stars. While it was quite dark, we felt safe and cared for at every turn thanks to Kadek's hospitality. We would definitely recommend bringing a jacket or hoodie, or both as it was very cold once you get to the top. Good hiking or trekking shoes are almost a must as well, the pebbly terrain at the start of the trail is very slippery even when dry. The private guide also allowed for us to hike at our own pace, which helped a lot, given that the hike was a bit more strenuous than expected. At the top, we were served a simple breakfast while we waited for the sunrise. Kadek was very professional and helped us take very nice photos as well as introduce us to the different parts that make up Mt Batur's scenery. The hike down is just as scenic or maybe even better than the sunrise. After the hike, Arjana drove us to the various spots we paid for where he drove us right up to the entrance and got our tickets for us. He was always very quick to respond when we were done touring the area and fast at bringing us to the next location. Thank you all again for the tour!

Review Body: It was an amazing experience! Me and my 3 friends were picked up by Indra punctually at 2:15am from Gianyar (Ubud), and taken to base camp. The ascent to Mt. Batur started at around 3:30am. While the first and fourth quarters were similar to other treks, the middle half was more challenging due to the terrain being full of small rocks. However, our guide Yush was helpful and encouraging us at all times, and made it much easier and fun to go all the way to the top. The summit had a breathtaking view of the sunrise, as well as multiple craters that marked points of volcanic eruption over multiple centuries. The descent was somewhat faster, and we were back to the base camp by 8am. From there, Indra took us to Batur Hot Springs, where we were able to get some much needed relaxation after the gruelling hike. Next came Amora, which can only be described as "great food with a great view". We were served an all-you-can-eat buffet with a panoramic view of Mt. Batur and Lake Batur. Finally, our itinerary wrapped up with a visit to the coffee plantation, where we were shown various fruits and beans that are used to make a variety of beverages, such as coffee, cacao, rosella and vanilla among many others. We also had an additional request put in to be picked up from Ubud and be dropped back at Sanur Harbour, since we had kept some luggage there a couple of days back that we needed to collect. For this reason, we also requested transport back to Ubud in the same vehicle, and were very graciously accommodated for an additional price matching the normal market price. This made out return much more convenient and hassle-free, for which we are grateful to the organisers, as well as Indra.

Review Body: One of the most amazing and unique experiences we’ve had while traveling abroad and we’ve visited over 120 countries. What truly made this experience so memorable was our guide Jully, he spent the whole day going out of his way to cater to our needs and we were quite demanding and not easily impressed. He arrived to pick us up 15 mins early but did not pressure us, he then took us to the closer and less used entrance of Tegenungan waterfall. When we got there, we could see people struggling walking down to the waterfall from the main entrance while it took us just a few minutes to reach the bottom from our entrance. Jully then took us to Tirta Empul holy water temple where he happily and patiently explained our numerous questions, which we had a lot of, in the car as well. Next we visited the coffee plantation and Tegallang rice terrace, where at both locations he seemed to know every one of the local staff and no one pressured us to buy anything, whcih made us comfortable and very welcome. We last visited the monkey forest, where he gave us the option to go to monkey river where you can spot the rare and sacred white monkey. We ended up going to monkey forest due to time constraints which we loved as we are animal lovers and the monkeys were very peaceful. For my wife and me, what made the experience most special was Jully’s knowledge of local history, his friendliness and his photography skills as we are both awkward at posing. We ended up using one of his photos for our wedding invitations for next year. Thank you Ubud Sunrise Hiking and Jully for one of the best experiences.

Batur himself, and he actually showed us where he lives and farms. He is an incredibly hardworking man who farms and drives tourists up to the mountains every single day. From the very beginning, Komo was so kind, funny, warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to share his home with us. He has the best smile and made us feel completely taken care of. Review Body: We had the most amazing experience hiking Mt. Batur at sunrise! From the moment Komang, our driver, picked us up at our villa in Ubud, everything went seamlessly. Her car was super comfortable, and her friendly yet professional demeanor made the early morning drive relaxing and enjoyable. At Mt. Batur, we met our guide Yus—what a gem! Yus was not only incredibly funny and friendly, but he also knew all the best shortcuts to ensure we had the perfect view for sunrise. Watching the sun rise above the clouds while sipping on hot drinks and enjoying breakfast prepared by Yus was an experience we will never forget. Even though Mt. Batur is a busy destination with many tourists, Yus’s expertise and personal attention made the hike feel truly unique. He also took such great care of my two daughters, making sure they were comfortable and safe every step of the way. We shared so many laughs, which made the entire trek even more enjoyable. Yus’s deep knowledge of the volcano’s history and geology added so much meaning to the adventure. He took the time to explain everything in a way that made the trek even more fascinating. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide for this unforgettable adventure. After reaching the summit and taking it all in, we were back at the parking lot by around 8:15, where Komang was waiting to drive us back to our villa. If you’re thinking about hiking Mt. Batur, I can’t recommend Yus and Komang enough—you won’t be disappointed!

Review Body: A flawless, rewarding, and hassle free experience. Instructions were clear and easy comms over whatsapp. Our driver "Arjana" was prompt at our hotel pick-up and good level of conversation / banter throughout the journey. For the Mt Batur hike, our guide "Wira" was extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He made sure to maintain a pace that matched our fitness levels and checked our well-being regularly. Wira got us to the mountain-top first, beating the crowds and giving us prime position to watch the beautiful sunrise over Ubud. He even cooked us a wonderful breakfast and took many treasured photos for the memory bank. The hot springs was a refreshing way to unwind from the hike, with the water fresh and not overly chlorinated. A little busy/crowded, but small price to pay for the view of Mt Batur. We had similarly spectacular views at the resteraunt, with the local indonesian food packing plenty of flavour, while still being light and healthy. Finally the coffee plantation is a must-do with lush rainforest vibes, a complimentary guided tour and complete tasting experience of unique Balinese coffee/teas. What we appreciated most is that the tour moved at the pace we wanted (in this case super fast) and we were completed by midday giving us back the rest of the day and maximising our holiday downtime. Quite simply this was the highlight of our bali trip and the experience would not have been anywhere near as good without the team at seeksophie

Review Body: we were picked up by amazing driver Erna at 115am. she is very knowledgeable with bali and its beautiful offerings. we also noticed that she did not use GPS to navigate her way from canggu to ubud and to mount batur. we were very impressed by her. the hike was great, good for reasonably fit people. our guide Wira was very patient with us. unfortunately, my phobia for heights got the better of me, and my friend continued with the hike with the rest. one thing to note is that, we had to meet early to pick up another pair of ladies at 230am. quite jarring to know as we did not expect to do such a long drive to ubud first, before mount batur. so if the transport can be more exclusive to 1:1, that would be more pleasant for the hikers. the vehicle that Erna drove was huge! very comfortable. just bad passenger etiquette when the ladies insisted on squeezing around with us in the front seat. understand that there was a little petrol smell in the car, which ive experienced in some fuel cars in bali. my friend and i were ok with the smell, just open the window and ventilate as we always do to mitigate such situation. Erna has been very patient with their complaints and offered the front passenger seat to one of the other ladies. all in all, its a hike that you should try. watch the sunrise and know that nature is so massive and kind towards humans. we are definitely humbled by the experience today.

Review Body: What an amazing morning! We could not have asked for a better trek experience for Mount Batur. Having seen reviews for other Mount Batur treks being extremely busy, we were attracted to this trek through Seek Sophie and it did not disappoint. We were picked up from our hotel early in the morning by our driver Komang (who was fantastic) and arrived at the foot of Mount Batur in a quiet village to begin our trek. We were extremely lucky to have Yus as our guide for the trek and he made the morning exceptional. Yus was able to provide us with knowledge of the local area as we ascended and once reaching the top, made sure to take us to certain points on the mountain before sunrise, ahead of the usual rush once the sun had risen. This was really cool as we were able to see the thermal pockets in the mountain and get photos without there being many others around. Although it was unfortunately cloudy when the sun did rise, Yus again provided his knowledge and advised that we stay at the summit for another 10-15 minutes to see if the weather would clear. We are so glad we had Yus to advise, as the weather improved and we got some incredible photos as a result. The whole Seek Sophie team were great from start to finish and we would highly advise others to book this trek - it was exactly what we wanted and more. Thanks Yus and Komang!

Review Body: I absolutely loved the experience of climbing Mount Agung. The purchasing experience was super easy. I got assigned a local guide named Juna, 31 yo. I was lucky to be the only one in the group just with him. We met at 11:00pm at an accorded meeting point. There he handed me some snacks ready for me, and some locals offered me coffee. We started him and me the hike at 11:30pm, had 3 rest points in which one of them he lighted a fire and made some coffee. Rested for an hour and kept on going until we saw the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen, alltogether with the smoke of the active volcano. We descended in 2 hours and 12 minutes, we were pretty fast, so if you go with a bigger group all together, the descend might take around 4 hours easy. The views alongside the hike were just astonishing. Be prepared with some hiking shoes since the end of the hike is pretty steep. I would suggest the agency to filter by desired pace of hike, to make the experience even better in case to be paired with more people. The good thing about it, is that this is not a typical touristic thing to do, so at the summit we were only about 20 people which believe me this never happens at Batur for example. Thanks Seek Sophie and thanks Juna, he was a real local hero!

Review Body: We booked our trip to Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking with Hot spring through SeekSophie. The process was seamless and easy to follow. We enjoyed doing this hike in a small group. Our guide, Sus, was very knowledgeable and courteous. He made sure our small group stuck together and took us to the various spots on the mountain that avoided the usual large crowds at the to. He made sure we got the best views and took us to other points of interest before the crowd made it there. In addition, we enjoyed very much the humorous banter and singing we did while hiking. Sus truly knows how to lead the group up and back down and as an added bonus he had some great photography skills to boot. The experience was unforgettable and I would recommend this tour to anyone! Finally, at the end of the of the hot dusty hike, we were taken to bathe and relax at the Bali hot springs, where we felt cleansed and rejuvenated soaking in the various pools surrounded by volcanos and farms. As a bonus they include a coffee farm tour, but we elected to skip that as we had already done on the day before ( this is an unadvertised bonus). Our driver Ketut picked us up in a timely manner and was kind enough to accommodate our request to change the plan.

Review Body: I liked everything about this tour. I am traveling solo and was having a hard time finding an offer as most tours required a minimum of 2 people. I was picked up promptly at 2am (so early). We made it up the mountain more than an hour before sunrise. I found the hike pretty easy but I do a bit of hiking. Scooters make it almost to the top. You do gain a bit of elevation and our guide says not everyone makes it however, but you can always hire a bike while you are there. Some steep patches that might be a bit problematic for some on the way down. Many people wore shorts, but as instructed, I wore pants and a jacket. I would have frozen without them since we were waiting at the top for a while. We had a good breakfast and a reserved spot to view from so we didn't need to fight with crows. No Stress. A special shout out to our guide Yusdinata who was awesome. He answered all our questions about the surroundings and even general ones about Indonesia. He was also our photographer and put extra effort into setting up the shots. He let us stay as long as we liked. He really went the extra mile. After we went to the hot springs and later a coffee plantation. Good trip overall.

Review Body: This is an amazing experience and the early morning wake up is MORE than worth it! I will say, my husband and I are very active (at the gym 5-6 days a week), and we hike occasionally in the USA. I would consider this hike more of an intermediate level as it is pretty much uphill the entire way. Our guide stopped as much as the group needed, but we definitely got our heart rate up and a good sweat in on the hike up! The morning temp was cooler than typical mid-day in Bali, which was nice. Would recommend sneakers with a good tread (but doable without because our sneakers did not have a good tread but would have made it easier). This guide provided a bottle of water, but would recommend bringing plenty of extra if you typically need it while hiking! Our driver Sarwa was safe and efficient for the drive from Ubud. Such a great experience with our tour guide, Wira, as well! He answered all of our questions, explained things we were interested in, and was so kind! He took some great pictures at all the great spots at the summit. We had walking poles to use, we well. We appreciate such an incredible experience and would absolutely recommend to book with Sarwa and Wira!

Review Body: My sons and I had a lovely morning climbing Mt Batur. The only painful thing - getting ready to be picked up from our Seminyak villa at 1:30am - was not stressful as our driver, Aji, contacted us ahead of time to make the necessary arrangements and was on time to take us across Bali to the base of the mountain. We arrived at around 4am and started climbing. Our guide, Nik, was a blast! Cheerful and patient, he guided us up the mountain at the perfect pace. One of us was not feeling well and Nik helpfully arranged for him to be brought up most of the way by dirt bike so he would not miss out on the adventure! We arrived about 30mins to dawn and were treated to a spectacular sunrise view of the Volcano caldera and Mt Agung. Even though one of us was ill, Nik was a great sport, and slowly showed us around a few great photo spots at the summit. A great digital photographer, he amazed the boys with his photography effects and “tricks”. All in all, a fun time. Extremely doable if you are moderately fit though it would be quite a climb if you are not accustomed to some exercise. It was also quite cold at the top while waiting for sunrise so layering would be best!

Review Body: We cannot thank Puta and his offsider Sugi enough for making this family day out, such a memorable experience. We were efficiently collected from our hotel in Kuta, on time and whisked away inland, in air conditioned comfort, to experience the highlights of Ubud. Monkey Forest with a guide to explain the majestic history of the forest, followed by a visit to the Tegallalang waterfall. 90 steps down, naturally felt like 180 steps back up BUT it was worth it. Even my 80yr old Dad managed it! We were driven to a beautiful venue for lunch, Warung De Coi, where we feasted on local fare and sat together at a traditional Balinese low table. We then visited a local coffee plantation where we sampled the MANY varieties of tea and coffee available and tried the famous Kopu Luwak. The day ended at the stunning Pura Tirta Temple learning about the symbolism related to all 3 of the sacred zones, within the temple, of the natural spring there, all the stunning statues, and the ceremonies that occur there and their meanings was a priceless insight into Balinese culture. A trip my family of 7 will treasure always. Thank you Puta, and thank you Sunrise Hiking.

Review Body: We had a fantastic experience on the Mount Batur Sunrise Trek. The pickup was very punctual—they arrived at our hotel exactly at 2:30 AM as scheduled. After about an hour's drive to the starting point, we met our guide, Yus, who provided water, headlamps, and bamboo trekking sticks for the hike. The trek to the summit took around two hours, and we reached the top around 5:00 AM. A simple breakfast of boiled eggs, bread, and coffee or hot chocolate was provided while we enjoyed the views. Although the sunrise was partially hidden by clouds, the volcanic crater and surrounding landscape were still breathtaking. Yus was excellent—friendly and safety-focused. He also helped us take amazing photos and guided us down before the crowds, allowing us to be among the first to arrive at the hot springs. There, we had access to lockers, towels, and several relaxing pools. The tour ended with a visit to a coffee plantation, where we learned about local coffee production, including the famous Luwak coffee, and sampled a variety of coffees and teas. Overall, this was one of the highlights of our Bali trip and highly recommended.

Review Body: This trekking was amazing! We were picked up at our hotel at 2.15 and Sari drove us the meeting spot with our guide. She's a spontaneous woman who likes to chat and give you information but also knows it's very early still 😉. At the feet of the Batur we met Kuas, an energetic and joyful young man who would take us up te mountain. He made this experience complete with his good vibes, knowledge and skills. I was very insecure about me fitnesslevel but he adjusted the pace a little and coacht me up the hill. It was intens but we made it to the top because of him! We even made it well before sunrise so we had time for a peaceful breakfast. At the top we were lucky the clouds dissapeared and he gave us plenty of time to enjoy our reward even though we saw other guides going down with their group much quicker. Kuas found a good balance between letting us enjoy the view long enough but also beating the 'traffic' (que of tourists) when going down. Overall, this experience was a first for us, but besides the stunning nature it was defenitly the wonderfull people on the terrain who made this a great experience!

Review Body: Decided to trek mt batur on a whim and ended up with truly breathtaking views at the top. Some sites might call it one of the easier mountains to climb, but that doesn't take away from the majestic scenery you get at the top! Yus was our guide, and he expertly took us through the tricky terrain even though it was our first time there, and with 11 years of experience under his belt, you be assured that he will provide you with an unforgettable experience as well. Not to mention hes a pretty good photographer too! Shoutout to Dibya as well, who drove and picked us up from our hotels to the trek start point. He was very responsive on whatsapp, and safely guided us to our various destinations. Just a tip though, if you tend to get carsick, i would advise cranking down the windows on your car ride as the winding mountain roads will do a number on you. Also, just because some say mt batur is a beginner mountain doesn't mean it's easy!! Don't come unprepared or completely unfit if you intend to hike the entire way.

Review Body: Driver pick up from the hotel in Ubud was Prompt. Driver DIBYA was there early and waiting for us. Very nice young man. Car was spacious and clean. Dibya was very friendly and respectful. Explained the itinerary and plan. Took us to the parking lot and was waiting for us when we got back from sunrise tour. Took us to good spots for us to take pictures of the lake, mountains and farm on the way back to the hotel. Fantastic service. The jeep drive was great and the place where they took us to watch sunrise was amazing. It was a lookout on the mountain with no obstruction. Fantastic look out point with no distraction. There was plenty of space to sit on a bench in the front row and enjoy sunrise. They were also ready to take pics when we wanted them to. very friendly and nice staff. Once the sunrise was done, they took us to see volcano rocks. The drive was great. Over all 5 star experience. Great people and great spot to see sunrise. Would defiantly recommend to my family and friends
