Review Body: We are a group of 5 visiting Bali for 1 month, during our ubud time, we wanted and expected to discover the real culture of Balinese people. Well, we werenĂŤt disappointed !
WeĂŤve heard of the Bali agritour through tour accomodationĂŤs manager and the program they offered was amazing ! Many things to do ... so letĂŤs go !
A day like IĂŤve never had, breathtaking views, ancestral growing technics, riding a buffalo, harvesting our ingredients to be cooked later, fishing cat fishes .. and so on.
The cooking class was amazing, with ‚ our é products, and gede and his team would always tell you a story about all of them !
After lunch, coffee ? We said, yes ! But you have to roast it first ! The ancestral way of course ..
I could go on and on but to sum it up, this day was a sharing day that IĂŤll always remember, I discovered this culture and how Balinese people live and think, in the most playful way.
A big suksma to you all ______

Review Body: Bali Agritours is an experience like no other. I visited with my wife and three young kids (3, 9 and 10). It was an amazing day that had something for everyone. The kids loved walking through the rice paddies, fishing and making and eating sate chicken for lunch. Drinking fresh coconut water right off the tree was a nice treat as well. More importantly, they learned about how food ends up on the table - the fish they caught was eaten for lunch. My wife and I loved the cooking (e.g. banana root soup) in addition to actually planting rice seedlings and spending time with some of the locals. In particular, Gede runs the place and was an amazing host. He and his staff were so welcoming and made us feel like family.
If you are looking in addition to the monkeys, beaches and temples, Bali Agritours is authentic farm to table experience and so much more. Highly recommend!

Review Body: Must Try Local Balinese Activity!
Friends
If you are tired or bored of those temple hoping, island hoping and etc, why not try to be like a Balinese who lives by the nice and soothing paddy field?
Bali Agritours is one of the hidden gems where you can experience to be a local who lives by harvesting the rice field for life. Not only this, they also provide fishing experience and harvesting of naturally self sown herbs and vegetables.
The Bali Agritour is a collaboration of two local senior citizen who are very knowledgeable and experienced in the activity the provided.
You may even cook from the harvested vegetable and fish you get from the pond!
Do try the Satay Ikan and other delicacies. You may even ask for some fresh blended fruit juice, roselle and coffees!
Highly recommended for family and Friends who opt for a true village life activity.

Review Body: Really great experience! We had a beautiful day with our guide Gede and his colleagues. We were picked up at our hotel, brought to the farm and had a great time.
Gede walked with us through the rice fields, showed us the farm and the nature, explaining a lot about Balinese culture, food and people. We picked some of the food ourselves, went fishing and cooked the meal together with the staff.
Afterwards we even roasted our own coffee and could enjoy the food and the coffee while looking at the beautiful rice fields of the farm. Calm and very relaxing - opposite to the touristic and often crowded spots in Ubud and around. We can definitely recommend this experience!

Review Body: The tour was a fantastic and eye opening experience, especially for those who have never seen how produce are grown. It was nice walking through the farm and having the opportunity to try freshly picked sweet potatoes and sugar cane as well harvesting vegetables and banana stems that were used for cooking.
Having a fresh cup of (delectable!) Balinese coffee in the morning and a freshly prepared Balinese lunch really wrapped up the experience and allowed us to taste Bali. From being picked up to touring the farm, fishing and roasting coffee beans, we had such a great time with Gede and team that we would highly recommend this tour anytime.

Review Body: We had an amazing time visiting the subak. They explained us many details about the water management system and the agriculture of and surrounding the rice fields. They showed us the different plants growing in the fields and cut some for us and for the delicious lunch we prepared together. The rice paddies are a key part of the Balinese identity; they need our help. Eco tourism can help maintain historical spaces and practices in Bali and elsewhere. The guides were very kind and quick to explain any questions we had. The fishing at the end was also fun.

Review Body: A very wholesome experience thoroughly enjoyed by our family, including my 5 year old. He enjoyed fishing and helping get fresh coconuts from trees and learning about how different foods grow. The hospitality and warmth of the hosts was incredible and a wonderful welcome change from all the superficial tourist-y experiences. The communication was great from the moment I booked and pick up and drop off went smoothly too. We loved the food, the people, the conversations and would love to go back.

Review Body: If you are interested to see a working sustainable farm in operation and chat with locals about the methods used to farm (in particular the irrigated rice patties) including a delicious lunch prepared with food collected from the farm then this tour will be of interest. Includes coffee roasting and other activities. Gives some insight into traditional and current rural life for those interested in life outside of tourist destinations

Review Body: The activity was set to start at 9am but I had to make my way to the farm as they didn't offer pickup for solo travellers. Not difficult to get there from Ubud though, about 20 minutes Gojek ride.
When I arrived at about 9am, I was offered some tea and coffee, and also a platter of 2 local snacks which tasted pretty good.
However, I continued waiting for another group to arrive, and it was only about 1030 that we actually started the farm tour. At that point, some of the staff had started cooking some dishes. Not too sure if this was part of the plan to start so late.
The farm tour was interactive and fun, unfortunately there was no rice planting, ploughing, or harvesting, due to the current season. We walked around the farm for about and hour, while the guide told us about the rice, some of the flowers, and some of the other crops. We harvested a banana trunk for a dish later.
We then ended up back at the starting point where we took a break and then went to catch some fish in the backyard pond using live crickets and small fishing rods. This was fun!
After that we were told that we would be starting the cooking soon. The staff however were already cooking some of the dishes.
For cooking, we had some hands on work making Satay Lillit with pre-prepared meat mixture. We also cut up some banana trunk that we had harvested earlier during the walk. And we also pounded some spices and herbs in a mortar and pestle. However, all these took a mere 2-3 minutes. And we were then told to wait for lunch and the rest would be prepared for us. Luckily I managed to grill some of the satay still. This was around 1145
Finally, it was time for lunch and we were served a plethora of dishes, which included the Satay, Banana Trunk Soup, and fried catfish which we had caught earlier. The other dishes were pre-prepared.
After lunch, we proceeded to watch the guide roast some coffee over a wood fire. The coffee smelled great! He later shared that the beans were from his family plantation. He packed this up for us to bring home after that.
The staff were really friendly, and the guide was great! Though the cooking portion was lacking though, but they did make up for it with the coffee roasting. And the duration of the activity was inaccurate as it was planned for 9am - 2pm, but was more like 1030am - 1pm.
Overall, a good experience with interactive activities. Good to try something off the beaten path.

Review Body: Great day with genuine local people
We were looking for something a bit different and away from the general tourist attractions and found this gem. We were not disappointed.
Gede and his wife met us at our villa, in Sukawati with no additional cost. Most organisations did not want to pick up from where we were staying as it was a bit out of the way. We had a good trip to the farm and enjoyed the experience with all that it involved. It was a chance to get up close and personal with the traditional farming life.
Don't expect to keep clean as you need to get involved and muddy in the rice paddies, walking through the fields and picking fresh salad vegies as well as many herbs. Learn about their uses and how they are grown.
seeing how food is prepared in the traditional way on the outdoor fires was a treat, and sitting and roasting our coffee gave a different appreciation for the flavours.
From helping make the satay, catching the fish, collecting the greens, grinding the herbs and spices and planting rice it was a fun interactive experience. It would certainly be something special for families to do together.
We thoroughly enjoyed the day and the conversation.

Meet your host
Pak Gede and his wife have been working to create a sustainable farming business model for the Bali Farmers Community by creating a unique tour in the rural farming area of the island. They believe that by joining one of their experiences you are directly helping the sustainability of Bali's environment and supporting small traditional farmers. It's a great cultural and natural exchange giving travellers an insider view of Bali of a more human perspective.
