Booked our 1st Private dining experience with MED59JCT via Seeksophie. Mr Al (chef & owner) reached out almost immediately via whatsapp. I shared with him our purpose of the meal and he was kind enough to recommend & arrange the dessert as a surprise cake for our friend. It was 3 Adults Saturday Lunch and it was just us - very lovely and cosy setting. Appt starts at 12pm. Natalie (Wife) and Al (Chef) was very lovely and warmed welcome us into their homes. we are BEYOND SHOCK and until now in AWE of their home. Al (Chef & Owner) mentioned that the menu changes every time and you won't get the same food. I always appreciate vendor that prepares in advance without having us wait for our what we paid for. The moment we are done with introduction he started of with the first dish - Vege sticks with hummus & egg plant dip. YUMS and refreshing. 2nd dish was the tomato tart - which at first sounds underwhelming but wow, the tomatoes were specially picked. A Medley of different tomatoes singing in your mouth. very well seasoned and you can tell that Al had put so much heart into it with making sure that the tart retains the integrity of the texture with the topping being a very juicey one. The tart was NOT AT ALL soggy and was really memorable. I can't remember the name of the dish but it was a samosa shaped cheese filling items that was pipping hot and freshly cooked with a squeeze of lemon. BOMB Dish. One of my top favourite was a also the very simple but flavour bomb prawns! Very Fresh Very Juicy Very Demure. I had about 6-7pieces on my own without having all of us fight for any. We was generously portioned and we were secretly hoping to have some bread to soak up the access prawn oil at the end of the bowl. There after we have another star of the show - chicken drumsticks (sorry i didn't catch the name) served with pearl couscous - again, it was 3pax but there was about 7-8 pieces of drum sticks within. VERY VERY Generous. and he made sure his guests were happy and satisfied. Chicken was juice and bone dropping. couscous soaked up the gravy. Lastly we had a Christian inspired cake with a cross shaped décor above. Al was so lovely to get special 'happy birthday' candles for us and helped us with group pictures. If you would alcohol option you could do a top up. We loved that both the host occasionally come by to speak to us about their dish etc and also separately gave us space to catch up giving us good privacy as well. Lastly, Al was very nice to give us a good house tour and shared with us all this though processes of the house. The details that Natalie and himself put in where amazing and you an see the house full of their life experiences and memories in one sacred space. They do have cats & dogs but they put them away when they have appts. no signs of smell of animal items around. very clean very considerate. :) Will definitely want to join for other events or sundown cocktails etc at their rooftop attic area in the near future!
