Review Body: I did the Mt Batur trek in September 2016 with three friends. I highly recommend this sunrise trek! Our guide: Our guide Wayan was fantastic!! He was friendly, helpful, polite, and fun! He also speaks good English. He was flexible and happy to stop whenever I needed a break, always paying attention to how we were doing with the pace. He noticed that I, in particular, was slower than my friends so walked beside me for the most part, taking my hand and supporting me when needed (if there was any uneven ground etc). He even took my bag. We had great fun chatting with him when more enegetic on the walk back down. He took us on a different route down which was longer for him but he thought it would be easier for us as it was less steep which was appreciated! The trek: The trek took just under two hours. The first 20 minutes is pretty easy and just as you're getting quite tired you reach the top, so the duration is not too bad. I am not a fit person (little to no exercise outside of walking to the tube) and I (although slowest in my group) had no problem doing it. If you take little breaks on the way up you should have no problems. It is STUNNING. Such a worthwhile trip and I would definitely recommend it to every person visiting Bali. When we got to the summit, our guide fixed up breakfast (eggs and banana sandwiches) and was happy to take some pics for us, but also left us alone for a time to take in the scenery. After we were ready to move on we went to the crater and saw some monkeys which was a really cool experience. A must do trek, and Wayan is fantastic

Review Body: The early morning start was the beginning of an enjoyable climb to the top of Mount Batur. It's best to start this tour from around Ubud as it's a 2 hour drive from Canggu, Seminyak etc. We started the climb around 4am in total darkness guided by Ketut who was always positive, knowledgeable and friendly. The lone torch was enough to guide our way and the start of the climb is very genteel as the climb progressively gets steeper and more challenging. Luckily the weather was fine so the ground underfoot was dry and stable - but I imagine in the wet it could be slippery and far more difficult. We stopped a few times during the climb for a quick rest and chat as we met up with others following the same journey. After a while we reached the top to the usual breakfast of eggs, banana and Bali coffee. Just before sunrise we moved on to a prime location and watched in awe as the sun rose above Lombok and lit up the valley. It was definitely worth the early rise to get a glimpse of Mt. Agung and Lombok in the distance. Ketut suggested walking around the volcano rim where we came across the other local inhabitants and many, many others who'd made the same trek. From here we enjoyed a brisk and easy descent back to the car park for yet another coffee (how quickly you get used to that). This climb isn't super difficult so certainly achievable for those with an average level of fitness. Ketut was a great guide and my driver also did an awesome job getting me to and from the volcano keeping me awake with excellent English.

Review Body: After reading some reviews I wasn't sure if my 7yo should come. After telling me she wanted to climb we committed to the summit. Our guide Wayan was amazing. He looked after us but as the child 'baby' was running up the mountain like a goat he left us to our own pace to take care of her. It's a good hike. The cup of tea or warm water at the top is the best you'll ever have. The baby took a nap at the top before we were given the history and facts about the area. We took an easier route down which was a great walk. Wayan even gave baby a shoulder ride half way back. The best and most memorable activity. Oh and the sunrise was spectacular. Make sure you take a jumper.

Review Body: I did the Mt batur sunrise trek with 3 friends. Wayan was a great guide, he was very informative, with great English. He also had great enthusiasm and passion for his work and the mountain, which was lovely to hear about. I learnt a lot about the mountain and its history. Thoroughly recommend him as a guide. The trek itself was tough (i had done rinjani the week before which of course was much tougher, but it was still hard despite this!) loose rocks and gravel at times, but definitely manageable and 100% worth it- stunning views!

Review Body: Unforgettable....!!!!! This is the best experience I have ever had in my life so far :) Fantastic guide and super friendly. He was flexible and happy to stop whenever I needed a break and always paying attention. It was take 2,5 hours for me to reach the top ( my first time). We start at 3 am and end up at 5.30 and we were lucky with the weather so we can see the beautiful views with amazing sunrise :) Highly recommended guide!!!! Review Body: It was my first time hiking and the driver edy was extremely patient and friendly. I forgot to bring my jacket and he even brought one for me! He was punctual and extremely nice, kept asking us if there is anywhere we would like to go to get some stuffs before heading back. Both the tour guides who were with us were extremely patient. I kept slipping and holding onto their hands throughout and they were so patient with me. They also took amazing pictures. Best tour ever. You won’t regret :)

Review Body: I visited in April and has Denistra as a guide. He was really friendly and adjusted his pace based on how quickly we were going. We left earlier than some of the other tours so we got extra time at the top to take in the amazing views. Denistra was really knowledgeable about the area and was really good with his English. He bought biscuits so we could feed the monkeys at the top near the steam craters! Terima kasih to Denistra because he made the whole climb really enjoyable!

Review Body: I went to Mt Batur early in the morning to see the sunrise. I was lucky to find Denis as my guide. He was a great companion the whole hike. I made it in time to enjoy the sunrise and a nice breakfast. Then enjoyed great conversation and saw a few spots that only a few guides know. At the end we played with the monkeys and took some pictures with them. Totally recommendable!!
