Go beyond the bitter remedies and discover TCM as a lifestyle
Think Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is all bitter soups and old-school remedies? This TCM-inspired teatime workshop reimagines it as something you can enjoy everyday. In this hands-on 2-hour session, you’ll turn Chinese yam - a classic TCM ingredient - into two modern, teatime dishes: fruit pancakes and a deliciously layered parfait. Along the way, you’ll discover how ingredients are chosen not just for flavour, but for how they support your body, making TCM feel practical, approachable, and surprisingly delicious.Led by a host trained in TCM and culinary arts, the session blends knowledge with real-life application. You’ll pick up simple cooking techniques, plating tips, and a clear understanding of how to bring the “food as medicine” concept into your everyday meals! What to ExpectMake 2 TCM-inspired teatime dishes with Chinese yam: pancakes and parfaitBe introduced to the “food as medicine” concept in TCMUnderstand why ingredients are selected and combined, not just how to cook themPick up easy home-cooking techniques and plating tips for a polished finishEnjoy your yummy creations while chatting with your host all things TCMLed by a TCM practitioner with culinary trainingGood to KnowPlease share any food allergies or dietary restrictions in advance with your hostPlease bring your own takeaway containers

Meet your host
Since 2020, Wan Jing has been helping people make sense of Chinese Medicine through everyday food. Trained in both Chinese Medicine and biomedical sciences through a joint programme by NTU and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, she later added a diploma in Culinary Arts from At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy. That mix of clinic and kitchen shapes how she works today.
Instead of broad advice about “healthy eating”, she looks at patterns in the body and what might be causing imbalance. Her approach is practical and grounded, focusing on small food and lifestyle changes that feel realistic for modern life.
