Cook authentic Indian food with a former chef on a harbor-facing balcony!
We’ll pour a few drinks, play some music, put on wacky aprons, and cook an early dinner on my beautiful harbour-facing balcony. You'll get a crash course in the herbs & spices of the Indian subcontinent, and over the course of the afternoon, we'll cook a complete meal - appetiser, mains and dessert.I will teach you basics like slicing an onion, & also some advanced techniques like flambéing a pineapple without losing even a single eyebrow. One of the coolest things about this class, is that I cook a different menu every week. There are plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, & once you book, I'll get in touch to figure out preferences etc.Previous Menus (Menu changes based on availability of ingredients)Classic Butter Chicken: An Old Delhi staple that packs truckloads of flavourKadhai Paneer: Pan fried cottage cheese & peppers dunked in a gorgeous onion-tomato masala with Kadhai Masala made from scratchMatar Pulao: The most glamorous thing to happen to green peas and riceMango Rabri: A dessert so rich it gives Jeff Bezos nightmaresWhat to ExpectA fun, relaxed 2.5-hour cooking experience in a beautiful home setting.Learn how to make four authentic Indian dishes from scratch.Enjoy Dhruv’s expert guidance every step of the way, from basic onion slicing to advanced flambéing.Hear the stories behind the recipes and learn insider tricks of the trade.Savor a delicious, freshly prepared Indian meal, complete with an appetizer, main course, and dessert.Things to NoteThe menu may change due to availability of ingredients.Dhruv practices a BYOB policy with no corkage. Feel free to bring your own drinks.Allergies / dietary needs can be accommodated – just let Dhruv know in advance. There are 2 rescue dogs on the premises. They're not aggressive at all, but beware of puppy eyes. You will be on the 36th floor. It's totally safe but if you have a fear of heights, you might want to think about that. And finally - want to learn how to make something specific? Ask Dhruv and he will do his best to make it happen!

Meet your host
My name is Dhruv, I'm a former professional chef and am dead serious about having fun in the kitchen. Cooking is all about experimentation and simply having a good time. I’ve been cooking since I was 8 and continue to learn something new in the kitchen every single day. I've cooked in several countries around the world—Jordan, Tanzania, North Korea—and believe that food is the greatest unifier there is.
I started my career as a chef in the hotel industry, but life had other plans and I somehow found myself working in tech. My love for food prevailed and today, I juggle a corporate career alongside multiple Food and Beverage projects. Probably, my favourite Food and Beverage projects are my cooking classes. They are a combination of private dining and learning, and have a singular focus on customer delight.
I've been writing a light-hearted food blog for 15+ years now and teach people how to produce Indian food that’s simple to cook and absolutely delicious. Everyone who’s tried my recipes has survived to tell the tale!
I also care a lot about the environment and try to minimise the use of plastic on all my experiences. All the vegetable waste from our kitchen and cooking classes is composted and used to nourish our garden. We're passionate about animals and live with two rescue dogs adopted from shelters in Singapore.
