Make your own jewellery set with real butterfly wings or bone
How do we honour nature’s beauty without taking from it, and instead, preserving its story? In this highly unique workshop, you’ll design and craft your own accessory (x1 Necklace OR x2 Bracelets) using real butterfly wings or bone, ethically sourced and carefully preserved by professional taxidermists. This isn’t your typical jewellery-making class as you’ll be working with natural specimens up close, learning to see their beauty, fragility, and strength in a completely new way.Guided by passionate hosts who blend taxidermy, storytelling, and hands-on making, you’ll create wearable art that honours wildlife rather than imitates it. Whether you’re drawn to a butterfly whose ephemeral beauty lives on, or a carefully prepared bone as a nod to nature’s cycles, your jewellery becomes a personal reflection of nature’s cycles and transformations - and no two pieces are ever the same! It's perfect if you're into nature and its beauty, love crafting with a twist, or want to walk away with something you genuinely can't find in a shop. What to ExpectDesign and create either x1 Necklace OR x2 Bracelets using real butterfly wings or bone pendantsAll materials are ethically sourced - no butterflies were harmed for this workshopAccent your piece with a buffet of polished and freeform crystals, glass beads, pearls and hypoallergenic metal findingsLearn about texture, symbolism, and balance in jewellery designStep-by-step guidance in a relaxed and creative spaceLeave with a one-of-a-kind set of wearable art full of meaningGood to KnowAll materials and tools will be provided, including ethically sourced specimensHypoallergenic findings are used for comfortAges 10+ – Suitable for older kids and adults.Only the individual attending the workshop is allowed to be in the studio for the duration of the workshop. Meet your host

Meet Vivian and Jivan, the duo behind Singapore’s first taxidermy workshops. Their work isn’t just about creating beautiful displays—it’s about honouring animals and sparking conversations about conservation in an unconventional way. Vivian grew up in Ipoh, surrounded by animals, which led her to study zoology and work in conservation with WWF. There, she learned how preserving animals could be a way to study and appreciate them. Combining science with creativity, she now teaches others how to respectfully preserve specimens, from delicate butterflies to small mammals. All specimens are responsibly sourced—from butterfly farms, wildlife centres, and even public donations—ensuring that every piece created is an ethical tribute to nature’s beauty.
