Batu Cermin

If you're looking for a fun day trip around Labuan Bajo, Batu Cermin is a cool limestone cave! It’s called Batu Cermin or also mirror stone cave because the limestone walls glitter when exposed to light because of the salt deposits on the rocks. It's not crowded and it's a fun day out to see the other natural wonders of the area.

Here, you pay one fee and get to visit 2 caves — Batu Cermin and another cave that's not even on Google maps! The tunnel system at Batu Cermin is really cool, as you have to duck crawl through small passageways to explore the caves! But don't worry it's very safe as you'll get helmets to protect your head.

During low season from March to end May. In any case Batu Cermin is relatively untouristed so even if you go during peak season, it won't be too touristy!

• People who like exploring!
• It's not strenuous so people of all fitness levels can do it. However it requires duck crawling so if you have any issues with your knees it may not be suitable for you.
• Not great for people who are claustrophobic.

• You’ll be provided with helmets and torchlights when entering the cave, but if you prefer to use your own torchlight, that works too.
• Wear light clothing because it can get a little humid in the caves.
