Experience authentic Hmong culture in a lesser-known village out side of Sapa

The homestay and trek were the highlight of our Sapa trip. The view from the room is incredible, especially in the morning! And the hospitality was great - all home cooked meals, big portions and delicious! We also spent some time chatting with the owner Thuy who was so nice and share a bit about life in Ta Van. The trek through the rice paddies and bamboo forest was breathtaking, it took around 6 hours covering 12km at a nice pace. We saw lots of animals and found out more about the local wildlife - our guide Sue was brilliant. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend!😊

This trek was amazing. For those who want to go off the beaten path and see the real Sapa. May was an incredible guide - funny, kind, and very knowledgeable. Be prepared to be in the jungle and do some difficult walking. Things will get sweaty! 

The homestay was wonderful as well. The food we ate that night was some of the best food we had in Vietnam. My recommendation is to sit with the guides and the hosts and enjoy dinner and happy water all together. You won’t regret it!

This trek was amazing. For those who want to go off the beaten path and see the real Sapa. May was an incredible guide - funny, kind, and very knowledgeable. Be prepared to be in the jungle and do some difficult walking. Things will get sweaty! 

The homestay was wonderful as well. The food we ate that night was some of the best food we had in Vietnam. My recommendation is to sit with the guides and the hosts and enjoy dinner and happy water all together. You won’t regret it!

She even organized for her husband to come get us on the bike when the road was mostly highway on the way to her home. At her house I had a wonderful fresh lunch with her family which included veggies and herbs all from the garden and the best chilli chicken and eggs. 

After lunch I got time to relax and enjoy the incredible view overlooking the rice fields. Then it was time for the bath in a wooden bath tub with the relaxing red dzao herbs that help soothe your muscles after the trek. 

Generally the pace of the day is really relaxed and Su constantly checks in to see if you’re okay. 

I’m so happy I got to see more of the real Sapa and the way of life in the village.

This is an awesome trip! We chose the easy route, as there were different options, and it was perfect for us. It's a lovely day of walking among hills and villages. It's a very authentic experience, and our guide was great!

Even though we were beginners ourselves, we decided to go for the adventure route, and we have absolutely no regrets! It was thrilling, exciting, and such a memorable experience. Best of all, the views were simply breathtaking!

Our tour guide, May San, was absolutely amazing! Not only is she a wonderful guide and photographer, but she is also incredibly friendly and welcoming. Throughout the trek, she shared fascinating insights into Hmong culture and introduced us to the different vegetables and plantations we came across along the way.

There are two routes to choose from: an adventure route and a beginner-friendly route. Even though we were beginners ourselves, we decided to go for the adventure route, and we have absolutely no regrets! It was thrilling, exciting, and such a memorable experience. Best of all, the views were simply breathtaking!

Would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to go trekking in Sapa!

San May spoke excellent English and it was a privilege to hear about her experiences ! This was a highlight of our time in Sa Pa and we hope to be able to return and share the same experience with our daughters one day soon. The day was warm and the trek was 13km of rolling terrain, however San May set the pace to accommodate us. Lunch was delicious, all of it ! Including the best spring rolls we have had yet!
