The perfect itinerary and the perfect guide. We are fortunate enough to have been on many guided treks as we have been travelling a long time. However, todays guide, Kadek, was probably the best we have ever had. He was so kind, informative, and patient. His knowledge of the local area was impeccable and he showed us a route that felt untouched, which he later said was not known by many people. I can’t thank Kadek enough for his help and wish him the best going forward. Thank you.

Our friendly guide, Wayan, took us on a long and interesting walk through the rice terraces. We winded our way through fields, along irrigation canals. Towards the end, the trekking was more challenging than I had expected, including wading through a river (though-high only) but with Wayan's expert help, we mastered that.

My guide was Kadek along with a driver. They were early for pick up so it was a great start! My hotel was at seminyak so the drive from seminyak to Sideman village was 2 hours. By the time we reached it was 11am and Kadek brought me around the perimeter of the rice terrace. It is in the valley of the mountains, so the walk was indeed 2hrs up. We had to walk along the embankment (sort of) so the path was narrow for most parts. I was the only one on tour so Kadek very kindly let me hold his hand in case this city folk got clumsy and lost balance and tumbled down the terraces 😅 Kadek was extremely knowledgeable about the vegetation in the area, pointing to me the different crops that the farmers grow in place of rice once the rice is harvested. He even dug some ground nuts for me to try. It was a very enjoyable and informative trek and the view of the terrace was absolutely breathtaking 😍
