Top Things to Do in May

I know next to nothing about whisky, but I felt like I became some sort of amateur whiskey expert after doing this whisky tasting masterclass with the true expert - Geovenn - who goes back to Scotland once a year! Geovenn is truly amazing! The whole session was incredibly thoughtful and had so much depth - without it ever feeling intimidating. 

From the moment we stepped into his cute shophouse in Katong (that he and his family actually live in), to having his senior cat and dog (Romeo &amp; Juliet) join us, to tasting the whisky flight - it was amazing.

Geovenn’s amazing energy, storytelling skills and ability to break down complex concepts and processes really helped me to follow along and gain a new appreciation for whisky. As we tasted the whisky flight that he prepared for us, I love that he has the entire map of Scotland on the table and explained the different regions of Scotland and how that impacts the taste. Some were crisp and light, others were very peaty and smoky (my fave), and some even had notes of the sea. We also learnt how other factors like different casks (sherry, oak etc) influence flavour and colour during the maturation process. Even rainfall plasy a role! All this to say, Geovenn is the whisky GOAT and we had so much fun learning all about it!

It was also a lot of fun to checkout his massive whisky collection! Thanks Geovenn for the amazing hospitality - it was a wonderful night.

We had a wonderful time with Jasmine. She warmly hosted us and our guests from the United States, making everyone feel comfortable and at ease. We also learned about the cultural stories behind the experience and had the chance to explore her collection of moulds. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed both the hands on session and the delicious kuehs we made together! We especially appreciate Jasmine ‘s passion for food and her dedication to sharing Asian culture with our overseas guests

Absolutely loved the Kintsugi experience. It was perfect to celebrate a friends birthday. Nilo who hosted was knowledgeable, patient and beautiful explained the concepts of Kintsugi. 100% recommend!

I really like how Geovenn had a deep passion for whisky; I can't think of a better person to host such an experience. He was also super knowledgeable, which helped me learn about the styles and types of whisky I like.

Really great experience! We did it for Mother's Day and me and my mum both loved it. 

Jimin's space was lovely and her doggo was the cutest (sat on my lap!). There were lots of flowers to choose from and Jimin taught us the basics of flower arrangement. 

We then got some time to do our own arrangements which was very meditative. Flower arrangement is more difficult than I thought! But with Jimin's help, we were able to put together a really beautiful bouquet. She was also very mindful to give us the time we needed, and we never felt rushed. 

We also loved how Jimin packed the flowers for us to bring home - it felt really premium - if I had given the flowers to a friend, they would've thought it's from an expensive shop! It is just a lovely way to spend the afternoon. Highly recommend!
